Since hearing G4techTV Canada brought back the TechTV program Call for Help I was wondering if they might have brought back anymore shows, however this has yet to happen mainly because a lot of hosts from the original TechTV (as in before the merger which screwed them all over) have now branched off into different areas of programming such as podcasting and/or just don’t want to go back to traditional broadcasting.
This made me come up with an idea, what if G4techTV Canada was to license out the rights to former TechTV shows to the companies of former TechTV staff, such as Revision3 so that they can in partnership with G4techTV Canada bring back old favourites in the exact same format that they use to be and distribute them online.
G4techTV Canada would provide resources for the show a long with being able to distribute the show on television, then let’s say Revision3 distributes it online, provides the hosts and organises sponsors for the show as well as coming up with ideas for segments etc;. Any profit that is made could be split between the companies equally. Combining two formats into one and bringing back quality programming to television and the web. Both companies will get benefits, with G4techTV Canada gaining quality programming back with favourite hosts back in control and Revision3 gaining prime time advertising on television.
So how about it Revision3, want to give G4techTV Canada a call? With any luck they might say yes.
Regards,
Max.
