Wow, the things that our country has gained based on the sacrifices of those who went on to fight before us and are, even now, fighting for our freedoms. Has anyone done anything today to honor our veterans and fallen soldiers? Well, if there are any veterans or active serviceman here that are currently serving in the armed forces, THANK YOU. Thank you for defending the freedoms that many of us Americans take for granted. Just now on TV I saw how a guy in my neighborhood lost his life in Iraq. This, in no way shape or form is just any other day, but is a day to honor those who have sacrificed so much for us.

The customary thing to do on memorial day is to put flowers on the graves of Soldier's. The general honoring of Vets everywhere takes place on Vet's day.

Although it is completely appropriate to honor those that have given the ultimate sacrifice on this day, I'm sure that any living Vet will be the first to insist that the day's honors not be focused on them.
