I'm actually a mac certified technician and will soon be entering the genius workforce at an apple store. How may I help you?

Well would you prefer a desktop or a laptop?

Well would you prefer a desktop or a laptop?
In addition to this question, what's your primary focus? Are you a gamer, a internet user, or a professional who has software he has to use for his job/workplace?

nice.. i have professional help now.. The thing is, ive never even used a mac.I just feel ready for change. I guess the question that would really help me the most is.. "Why do you prefer mac over windows?". I mostly use my current computer for music, movies etc, however i would like to begin with a bit of video editing in the coming months.. Nothing high end though.. ... and i am laptop shopping

Why do you prefer mac over windows?
The question shouldn't really be mac vs. windows, but rather mac vs. dell, hp, gateway, etc., especially since Boot Camp enables you to run windows (xp or 32-bit vista) natively on your mac.
I actually started writing out a list, but then realized that the list I was writing was practically verbatim from the list on Apple's Get a Mac (http://www.apple.com/getamac/) page. The only thing they didn't list, but is worth mentioning, is Front Row (http://www.apple.com/imac/frontrow.html).
If you don't plan on running any high-end apps like Photoshop or Final Cut (iMovie HD should meet your needs just fine), then you should be good to go with a MacBook.
I would recommend that you wait until October so that when you purchase a mac, it will already be equipped with OS X 10.5 (Leopard) and save yourself some money.

Music, video, video editing.... Windows Vs. Mac... Before buying a Mac... Maybe you should try a bit of Linux (Ubuntu). Quiet simple...
BTW : I don't want to switch the thread to a whole Linux talk. but... before buying a Mac maybe...
