Last.fm are actually based in london only. Audioscrobbler was merged with last.fm a couple of years back, so they moved to london. Also last.fm is only registered in micronesia and does not have there servers based there, it would be stupid for them to do considering the amount of traffic they get.

i just checked out kevins list. and i think where like musical twins. almost. dont use last.fm that much but i signed up a long time ago probably like 1 year and a half aga. i almost had goose bumps seeing all the music that he listened to and i relized most of these artists are in my itunes and are regularly playing on my ipod. i knew he liked air as do i but bjork? and belle and sebastian as well as interpol? wow that was weird. and come on tapes n' tapes and spoon! no one really knows of tapes n' tapes or spoon . atleast not in the sf area that i know of. and i do live like 15 min away from sf. , oh and cold war kids!i love cold war kids even saw them in concert.weird but its a rare occurency that happens. but trust me its very rare to find some on that likes atleast 4 bands that i listen to regularly ive only found of one person at my school that did. oh and well the more popular that i do listen to that he does is coldplay, modest mouse, muse, the beatles, gorillaz. and there is others like 2pac,the white stripes,the beasie boys, postal service that i do enjoy but dont really have alot of there songs in my itunes cuase there past loves. wow that was long. all he needs is franz ferdinand in there and id go bonkers cause i love franz.

+ for me. Ever since Pandora was closed off to non-US listeners, Last.FM is a nice alternative.

It lists the music you listen to on your computer (via Windows Media Player, iTunes or other programs) and recommends other songs you can listen to via streaming or recommends people with similar taste in music (aka. neighbors). You can also listen to the music your neighbors are listening to.
