Ok, I'm 14 years old and I was wondering if there is anyone else out there around my age. The reason I ask this is because kids and teens tend to have different tastes in media compared to adults and I'm sure the same applies to comics. Let's make this thread to discuss books we like and just talk about whatever we want without adults in the conversation. Any thoughts or questions?

Hmmm...I don't see a need for us younger people to separate ourselves...

Just stay off my lawn you hooligans!

Don't go away from us guys I promise the strange feelings you feel about girls will turn out alright. Plus we will cut back on the swearing (just a little bit).

I'm 22. I also like the avatar.

See, we can be.....down with it.

And by "it," I believe i mean our bad selves.

I could be wrong though.

Stay in school. I believe that you are our future.

Tabacco is Wacko. (if you're a teen?)

But enough scaring the poor guy. I don't know how many teens are on the board, so I just want to throw this out there... don't feel like you can't have a voice just because you're younger. Some of your opinions might be different, some might not. Either way makes for good conversation.

Yeah, sorry I didn't mean to be weird.

Everybody's opinion matters around here. Don't be afraid to speak up.

Wow, you're all so.....OLD. I totally understand where you're coming from, Dave. Us youngsters need to stick together.

I didn't mean playground...I meant.....youth gathering area. Where young adults hang out. The malt shop or whatever.

I actually DO frequent the bowling alley. Which I guess kinda makes me like Matthew Mcconaughey.

..........

Oh God...what have I done?!?!?

I had the urge to initially post something snarky about Officer Shaq hoping that this guy wasn't a pedophile posing as a teen and decided against it.

I made the right choice.

That wouldn't have been cool.

funny, but not cool

Ok, I'm gonna try to be somewhat valuable to the conversation.

A question to the teens.

If you guys read Ultimate Spider-man or Robin, do you think those are a decent representation of the young people? Is that even important to you as readers? Or are they just another book?

I intend to have no redeeming social value whatsoever.

Make with the real thread topic folks.

I would like to know if there's any difference in the books younger folks like. Because honestly, I understand nothing about what teens like. However, I suspect that the teens who gravitate towards our show, and this community specifically, probably have a tendency to like more....substantive media.

At least I hope.

I think the thing with books aimed at younger audiences is that they, generally, end up being something that feels like it belongs to someone way younger than you are...no matter how young you is.

I'm 23, but after reading the recent JSA/JLA crossover I think Justice League Animated would be more my speed.

When you're 14 every book in the store is age appropriate. Only smart kids read comics.

When I was 14 the kids books were boring to me, I looked for books like Spawn and Preacher. Look at me now... I'm taller.

Yeah, I have some different opinions than the adults in the community. When Some of you older guys just stick you nose up at stuff that you just write off as stupid superhero stuff, I really like some of it. An example of this is the JLA/JSA crossover and Civil War. As for Ultimate Spider-Man and Robin, I don't read either of them, that is because of my limited supply of funds to buy comics.

They're really good dave...you don't know what you're missing. Ultimate Spider-man has to be one of the best Marvel books going today (616 or Ultimate universe). As for Robin, in my opinion I'd say that has to be in the top 5 DC books as of right now.

I can understand the budget thing, IDave. But if you ever have the opportunity to pick up Ultimate spidey or Robin in trade, they're a lot of fun. Good superhero comic books. And there's nothing wrong with that.
