View Full Version : Should Kevin and Alex address the "episode 100" discussions?

Do you think Alex and Kevin should mention something on the next diggnation in regards to everyone's comments, especially the whole "death of diggnation" thing?
I'm sure they have both read the threads.
I think they should... something simple... like "The last episode was a bit heated... but it was nothing more than a discussion... we're friends and we love doing diggnation and it's not going anywhere!"
Or something...

Maybe...if anything, so we know they read our petty speculations.

I can't believe how much people are over-reacting to this. The way some people talk, they make it sound like they broke out into a fist fight in the middle of the show. It was a heated debate between two friends with strong view points on the issue. No more - no less.

What's wrong with two people with two different views? Isn't that what makes things interesting?
I'm pretty sure that some stupid argument isn't going to tear those guys apart.

Plus...there was alcohol present. There's nothing to discuss. I would argue with a tree if I'm drunk, it's just the way shit goes down.

What you guys didn't see was what happened after the camera was turned off. That dragon punch uppercut Kevin laid on Alex was pretty impressive. But then Alex counter-attacked with a fierce uppercut-sonic boom-fierce backhand three hit combo which dizzied Kevin. Kevin was able to get out of the dizzy spell and ended the match by crossing up Alex with a jumping fierce kick-dragon punch combo. I just hope they both recover in time to film episode 101. :P
Phatty is right. Just a heated discussion between two friends. Nothing more. Nothing less.

No, they shouldn't. And if they did, it would be unprofessional. I'm pretty sure they've forgotten about that by now... actually, I'm pretty sure they forgot about it before the episode was over.
Has anyone here ever argued with a friend over something dumb like that? Yeah? Me too! And from experience, we're usually all over it in about five minutes... so yeah.

The argument would have gone no where had it not been for Alex's (albeit, drunken) crusade to not let Kevin get a word in. Granted, Kevin was clearly getting annoyed but I'm pretty sure they all drank that away after the show ended.
There is nothing for them to address. We all just need to move on.

I agree. I don't care if they mention it or not. I do think they should try and get back to how things used to be though. Lately the show just doesn't seem to have the same feel to it that it used to. I think there used to be a lot more playful back and forth between them. Now whenever they start arguing something, it just feels like there's tension. Not just on ep. 100, but for the last few.

What makes you do sure, an over-whelming sense of self importance?
Nothing suggests to me that either of them are even aware of these threads.

exactly, they where just venting and please they weren't the 2 most sober people to be arguing a point during a show, people just let it pass

That was the Totally Rad Show forums.
And that was filmed the afternoon before the Diggnation taping.
I don't care if they say something or not, but I think the saddest part is that Kevin and Alex, when it comes to Diggnation, are becoming too disconnected with the audience. It really is just like business as usual nowadays and that's kind of a bummer.

This, and they were doing it completely for entertainment purposes. I think that Alex and Kevin tend to play-up their differences in this Arena.

For an alcohol-laden show which includes live drunkeness and post-taping puking and passing out, you would have thought they were eye gouging and pile driving each other.
God forbid they ever show nips on the show, some of you fairies are gonna have a fit.
That was a great show BECAUSE of what happened and what was said and some people want explanations? Maybe those people need to get laid. (you can get a hummer for the price of a USB stick, think about it.)

It would be nice if they simply said we got a lot of hot action on the forums so we would know they read some of the posts. The great thing about Totally Rad is that they actually read and respond to the posts which is very cool.
No need for them to address anything other than it was an interesting show. I was disappointed with the quality more than the fight and am very hopeful it returns to form.

No fairies here buddy. http://www.mybuddyicons.com/data/thumbnails/11/tinkerbell_2.jpg
And some of us get laid. But, it cost more than a USB stick. Perhaps a quarter of a million dollars so far, I stopped counting when the ring went on.

After reading some comments on Digg and taking note of all the clips they showed of past Diggnation shows, this show is losing its production quality. Just not as funny and fun. Now it's just a couple of dudes sitting in the same dark dingy living room.
Change location!!! Do more live shows! Do something to make it better.
For 100 episodes it was a pathetic tribute to the milestone.

I thought everyone was pissed because the episode was really stupid. Maybe I should read through the other post. But this definitely won't lead to them splitting up...I've had much worse arguments with friends and everything is just peachy. The problem is that it was a horrible episode...

Umm can everyone HERE get off their Hi-horses ( the ones complaining)
People are posting like they Deserve an explanation because they've been whinning a lot about it on the forums
"Hey will kevin and Alex discuss the fact that I overreacted so that I feel more important" Seems to be the sentiment.
Grow up, go get a drink and keep watching the show

I re-watched it and I enjoyed it. I agree when someone said that it was the expectation of it being the 100th episode. Much like the iPhone hype, which some speculate may hurt it.
When Kevin and Alex go at it about Microsoft/Apple, it reminds me of me buds "arguing" over their favorite sport teams.
Maybe the show SHOULD be more dramatic, because some are so desperate for it, they make it up. :D Throw in a Linux user, a token black guy, phony deadlines for diggnation projects, the CEO Firing people and user Digg Votes on who stays on the show. Can't be to hard to make a reality TV show.

If anyone is on their high horse, it's you. The tone of your post suggests that you are the one who is immature. I'd wait a few birthdays before telling anyone to "grow up", if I were you.
This is a legitimate topic to discuss here. This wasn't just a heated argument, it was the turning point in the show. The rest of the show was terrible. Alex and Kevin had no chemistry and did the rest of the show in a perfunctory manner. It was like they were just trying to get it over with. It was a real let down, especially since it was the centennial episode. It's totally natural for people in the forums to be curious and want more information.
