just wondering why TRS hasn't reviewed shadowrun yet.its the first time xbox360 and pc can play together ending the age old question of who is the better fps.its not a game that you can just turn on and play but once you figure out a few things its a lot of fun.id like to see what they think.if you would like to see this game get reviewed by TRS post here and lets see if we can get something going.thx

I got around to playing the demo yesterday and I LOVE it. I was totally surprised as up until this point I thought it was going to suck. I really want the full game but haven't got the money to blow at the moment.

I've only played the demo, but a lot of the complaints I'm hearing aren't about the quality of the game, but rather that there's not enough game types or maps.

They keep comparing it to Counter-strike, and really there were only 4-5 popular maps for that game and look how long we played that.. =)

The game kind of brings back my memories of playing Socom II (which was my most played online game ever I think). I played that game so many hours and hours and honestly played only a few of the maps most of the time.

i have the pc version and it plays really good and the graphics are sick. i just got a 8800 gts a week b4 the game came out and ill tell ya its one of the best looking games Ive played. i don't know why people say its like counter strike it has one thing in common and thats the buy system for weapons, tech and magic.but there are two things that need work and one is there aren't enough dedicated servers running it.i only get three at a time and the xbox live jammie takes a few minutes to connect to a game and also gets funky from time to time but i expect some of that.its the first time pc and xbox 360 play together so theres gonna be some hiccups.

So I was in the beta, didn't play it all that much, enough to form an opinion.

So when I traded in games at Gamestop for Forza 2...I had to decide on another game to get, so I said, "What the hell, I'll bite the bullet and get Shadowrun."

And I'm really enjoying it, playing with friends really helps the expierence, seeing how nobody on my friend list was in the beta.

So if anyone has the full game and wants to play, my gamertag is in the sig.

IGN didn't really like it but i better download the demo to make my own opinion, never heard about it before today.

I've said it once and I'll say it again...**** REVIEWS!

Especially from "professional" game websites or magazines.

So what if the reviewer doesn't like the game, I might.

The game is great. But at $60 for a multi-player only game (with only 9 maps), it's certainly overpriced.

Everything I've heard from critics about this game has been negative. Everything I've heard from everyday gamers about this game is positive.

Critics tend to ***** about the littlest things.

So what if there are only a few maps?

They're pretty damn good maps.

And as for gametypes, it's basically just CTF, I've only played two game types, one where only one team, the Lineage, capture the flag, and another where both teams need to capture it.

Of course if you kill the opposing team you also win, seeing how there are no respawns.

I enjoy the latter of the two gametypes, makes for a more intense game.

Funny story about that, I was playing on the slums map, and these RNA members are trying to capture the artifact on scoring area my team is supposed to capture on, so I run up with my little dwarf with shotgun in hand and blew the artifact carrier away, grabbed the artifact, and scored.

I laughed for quite sometime.

I'm really enjoying the game. I have it for the 360.

I'm a HUGE Shadowrun fan, so I would have liked to have story in a single player side or something similar. I'd also love a really cool RPG (or hell, MMO) based on Shadowrun... but that's just not what this game is trying to be. I think it's lame that it's getting beat up by some folk for NOT being that.

It is a little like Counterstrike in both the buy and rounds systems. But I see nothing wrong with that.

I can also understand the complaints about there not being enough maps, etc. I hope more become available soon.

I am enjoying the playstyle though. You can decide what you want your role to be, and then select weapons, magic and tech to support it. Want to be a medic? Dwarf, Rez, Tree, Shotgun, etc. Want to be a tank? T roll, minigun, smartlink, enhanced vision... Fancy ninja antics? Elf, katana, teleport, smoke... Or whatever you like.

And seriously people, buy your magic and tech first...weapons are lost each time you die, if you save up for your more expensive stuff it won't be a problem.

I usually play as a Dwarf, buy rez first round.

But tree next round.

then I'll either buy a shotgun or a glider in the next.

I don't care too much for the achievements though, most of them seem to be about playing with Vista players, which I have seen none of as of yet.

humans start with more loot so i usually play with them.i just found out that you can give loot to team mates or sell them a weapon.team work is key in this game.if you can get a group of guys to get different abilities and play a mix of races and use the voice communications it would be hard to stop them.but it seems like like most groups have 8 john rambos.

I played a few games with a guy who complained that he could never afford the tech he wanted and refused NOT to buy a katana and smg. heh.

I don't care too much for the achievements though, most of them seem to be about playing with Vista players, which I have seen none of as of yet.Nah, there's only a hanful of them that are vista related. Some of the achievements are specific to a situatuion (e.g. That Was Close, You're Coming With Me), others are about getting X kills with Y weapon, or killing X elves, etc.

i loved the demo for this, and its on top of my gamefly queue atm. i played several round and gliders and teleports are the most enjoyable part for me.(gust is pretty fun if you're defending too) it was all smooth and i'm looking forward to playing a dorf

If you're playing a dwarf, I recommend having rez, tree, and whatever else you want, I prefer having a glider.

This reminds me I haven't played in a while, think I'll get in on some tonight.

Well it finally did it, my Xbox 360 died this morning completely out of the blue. I went to go turn it on and it freezes about 1-2 seconds into the startup screen. Called Microsoft for my coffin today. They did say they would give me enough points to re-buy all of my Xbox Live Arcade games so my wife can still play them on her profile.

They shouldn't need too, because you can re download any arcade game you have bought.

Oh and sorry to here about your 360, sucks :(

bobafettjm

Well the problem is that when you buy a Live Arcade game you can use it with any profile on the system you bought it on. Well if I get a new unit then I can ONLY use the Live Arcade game on the 1 profile I bought it on, and only while online. Well my wife has her own profile and liked to play the live arcade games, but if it's a new system then only I can play the games. So what they are doing is giving me enough points to buy them again which I can use with her profile so she can still play them, or I can play them if my internet is down.

This really sucks, but at least tech support was very helpful and they were quick to help me with the live arcade game problem.

Sorry to hear about your 350 Bobba( I mean 360, but I had to keep that 350 there since it kind of cracked me up). I mine died a few months ago. And my wife got me a year subscription to live for father's day. So hopefully it will at least last a year. I need to buy that extended warranty.

That's also why I've been hesitant on buying 360 games. My system may just die, so why bother investing in it?

I downloaded the demo of Shadowrun and I loved it. It just seems very interesting.

Maybe I'll get it sometime to play with you all.

in the meantime if anyone wants to play GoW with me my tag is Freelovefreeway.

I would be up for playing Gears as well as long as it's a fun group of people. I am not great at the game online because I never really play it, got tired of all the idiots on it.
