I Might Get A Mac

First off i don't plan on switching just need to learn the ins & outs of OS X if i start doing on the side tech support i need to be prepare for every thing i have Windows and Linux down, I'm thinking of getting the 17' imac 512mb ram is this a good machine?and will it run 10.5?

Honestly I recommend more RAM, at least 1GB, even if you buy some third party RAM.
