DIGG, DIGG, DIGG, It's a circular world we are living in and what better way to show it off than with a Digg button that shows the Digg count of the Digg story you Digg on a giant Digg button display in the Digg offices by the cousin of Digg (Revision3) at diggthediggbutton.com.

Rev3 forums is the best form of communications. And we survived the digg effect. :) Brendan rocks!!

this was a nice episode. kinda wanted to see kevin try his hand at soldering considering how he talks about it on diggnation. and it looks like they need to add more digits to the big digg counter.

Dude, that episode rocked! Looked like you all had fun with it :).

The first mod segment was rather interesting, Kevin asked some awesome questions. The next was uber nice also, keep up the good work guys!

This could almost be the best episode ever.

Can't wait for ep 11 :)

Thanks again,
Christopher

That was actually very well done, the segment where Kevin and Limor were making the digg button, Kevin asking perfect questions for the viewers and Limor knowing alot of information in what she was talking about, was really pleasant to watch. Also explaining the bigg digg button was awseome, it was really a well done episode.

I still think it would have been both more entertaining and just as many good questions being asked if Kevin would have been doing the soldering, or at least some of the soldering.

This way, it felt more than a little awkward when she had blazed through assembling the kit and Kevin went "Awesome! Well done!" when it worked.

drandolph, what were you thinking? Only four digits!? ;)

you guys were talking about using the DIGG AP to show diggs.

I remember a popular story on digg, where a guy built a custom pc with a digg design. He made a digg story ticker, which i personnally think is better than this, even thought this is version is cool

heres a link in case you missed it

That was a great custom case. I was personally very impressed by it. However I think they were using the rss reader from digg and not the new api for the lcd display. What i was really impressed by was the custom graphic in the shape of the digg box. Kinda wish they posted the code because i would be interested in looking at it. But if your looking to do something close to that you can find a ton of lcd drivers for rss feeds out there.

On a final note I am amazed by the quality of work and detail on that case.
Just stunning.

Just had to give it a go. So I decided to make my own using a 4x20 lcd display. It works via the com port using the same software as systems version.

You should do a little how to article. I've been playing with LCD displays to see what i can do with them but i didnt even think of hooking it up to the digg software like that. Well done!

Thanks for the replys. Ive included a video, so you can see it working.

I did this project just for fun. The display is driven by a pic18f252 and is connected to the com port via a 1k resistor.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a guide on how to make a digg display button like the one in this episode of systm...

i was a little confused about the way the actual sign worked, loads of explanation regarding the software and where i could go download it, but how does it all connect (eg, are those controller boards shown in the 2 second clip on the back included in the K8063 pack, what else is needed to get this going other than the K8063's and a usb to serial adapter)
