Just a reminder for Father's Day...for those of us in the states...

Give the ol' man a call or a hug if you still live at home...or a "I miss you" if he's passed on.

I took pops to his fav place to eat for lunch, then I drove him around where he spent his younger days and listened to him talk. All in all a good day. :)

melancholy day for me. Dad passed two summers ago, had not a pot to piss in. My then partner at the time quickly emptied his apartment in a distant city, and put all his stuff in my ex's attic. Thursday ex says, "need attic space" so I went through Dads stuff, to see what could be tossed and what I should save.

Forgot Dad-day was sunday, just cried a lot going through his stuff...

As a hovie who didn't believe in "holidays" Fathers day was the only non-religious one he would allow himself to observe... So yeah, sad day for me...

Found a letter I wrote to him when I was in High School. Made me smile... kinda. for a while. It's on my fridge forever now...

See, this is why I'm here so much, posting nonsense most of the time, serious stuff when appropriate, cause you guys give a shit. Truely. Had some good communities in the past, but nothing like you folks.

Gonna cry again, now, but in a good way... :)

He's got like 50 of them, I spent like half a year trying to get a website to sell prints and cards of them, but he "just didn't get it" as far as internet tech... :(

And I was having my own issues, so couldn't do everything for him. Half the stuff I went through thursday related to his "Americatures." Clever concept. Wish it worked for him. another:

No problemo...hey, can't tell from looking, but are those pointalism? (made by dots instead of lines) Just have that look to them but hard to tell with small pics like that...cool style either way.

They are quite large, and done with rapidograph pens. A bygone tool from a bygone age. Not poitilism, though, he was too freeform for that... :)

J-fed. !!!

You're stuck with it now. Who woulda thought typecasting woulda caught up with you this early in your career? Just like Maynard G. Krebbs, er, I mean, Gilligan.

Well, see? proves stuff can change. :)

My family always has picnics for holidays for these, so I got to see my dad today. We don't have a close relationship, but I did get him some gifts. I got him Master of the Flying Guillotine, The Hot the Cool and the Vicious and some other kung fu movie that came with HCV.

My Dad's been forgetting about his pitchfork he carries in the back of the tractor so when he drives into the barn, he snaps the handles off...has lost three so far...so my sister got him a new pitch fork with replaceable handles with a note saying, "Silly Daddy"

the fam had a good chuckle over that one...

Either you know him really well, or not at all. I'm guessing the former. He loves you, but some old farts hate saying it. so I'll say it for him... Love you dude. You're a sweetheart. Dads remember that stuff, they do. Take it from me..
