Is there a reason that the video links are under a 'video-only' category? Does that mean that there is no audio?

Thanks.

A link would be helpful so we can see what you are talking about.

You made an account just to ask this?

He's talking about this (http://revision3.com/geekdrome/2006-02-27), the download options on the right side.

The video download is labeled "Video-only" as in no sound.

Right, sorry if I wasn't clear.

Example:
http://revision3.com/diggnation/2006-09-21

The video downloads are labeled 'video-only'

Yes. To save bandwidth, you will also need to download the left and right audio channels. If your system can handle it there is also a 5.1 surround expansion available at extra cost.

Hope you are trying to be funny ...

Dude, I got the version that had only the red-channel color information. It looked pretty wacky.

On the Diggnation download it says Audio-Only and then Video-Only...

That would entail that it's just Video and NO Audio in the video, no?

I don't get why people have such an issue with this. While the "-only" part isn't really necessary, do people really think they'd put up videos with no audio, or that you'd have to download the audio separately? It simply means, if you want the video version- click here, if you want the audio version- click here.

Has it really been brought up that much?

It's simply a stupid way of using english. Video-Only and Audio-Only...

I don't think its confusing at all because if you used common sense you would ask yourself.... "Why would they release video only with no audio?" ;)

True, but common sense would have dictated quite long ago that you shouldn't put a -Only after Video and Sound when it's implied. Obviously it wasn't thought thoroughly through (try saying that ten time fast :P).

That should be fixed.

A lot of things should be fixed that are a bit more important, but I'm not seeing much urgency from Rev3, so I wouldn't be expecting anything anytime soon. They seem to think it's ok to just work on their own schedule and not work to keep the fans that are what makes them what they are.

I wasn't really trying to be funny -- just to point out that they probably shouldn't have the label 'video-only' which doesn't make sense.

My Video-Only version in black and white though... that sucks. They should let others know about that problem.

That could be; it was probably just an oversight -- one of those 4am (with alcohol?) mistakes.

I should probably start a new topic for this, but how does one unsubscribe from giving revision 3 money each month?

true, but that's why English is weird.
