Hey guys, what do you think you're greatest fanboy moment is? You know something that happened to you that you were either really looking forward to or just meant a lot.
Mine is meeting Mark Bagley this past year. He was doing Amazing Spider-man when I first got into comics and Ultimate Spider-man is my fav book of all time so meeting him really meant a lot. It was really cool to meet someone who had a big impact on your life and just shake their hand and say thanks.
I'm interested to see what everyone else has to say

Cliche as it is, mine is meeting Stan Lee.
It was at Wizard World Chicago in 1998, and I was but a lad of 13. I'd just stared getting into comics, and here I got to meet the friggin' king (with all respect to Jack) of the medium!
I had just bought a dog-eared copy of Amazing Spider-Man v1 #40, in which Norman Osborn is unmasked and killed (the first time). I handed it to him for signing, and his eyes get all wide. He looks at me with that goofy smile and says "Hey, I've been looking everywhere for one of these! How much?" We laughed, I got my sig, and it still sits in my room today.
It was the moment I learned that these larger-than-life characters and stories actually come from real people, and it was neat.

Met Neil Gaiman about two and a half years back. Seeing as how he's probably my favorite writer period, that was a pretty good day.
I met Frank Cho at my first ever Con back before he'd really hit it big. I went to his table with 4 or 5 of old Liberty Meadows books and figured he'd just want to sign them and move on, "big star" and all that...
He was an exceptionally nice guy though, and we chatted it up a little.
Oh and meeting the voice of space ghost. Awesome, he did all the announcements at the same con...
ANd finally, meeting Mick Foley. He complimented me on my Voltron shirt.

Meeting Paul dini was probably mine. I thought everything he was doing with Detective Comics was absolutely amazing, not to mention the fact that he has had such a huge part in the DCAU, and invented Harley Quinn, a truly amazing villain. Plus, that same day I met Brian Wood and Gail Simone. Both of them had no one else at their booths, and were really stoked to see me. That made it so much better.

I don't think I've had one yet. Maybe if I ever get the chance to meet BKV or Joss Whedon.
I did pass Bendis on my way out of the con on Saturday. I wasn't sure if it was him at the time, and it was too late by the time I figured it out.

Getting to talk to Carmine Infantino for about a half hour at the NY Comiccon. He is a funny, funny man.
I met Joss Whedon at the SDCC a couple years ago. The conversation went something like this:
Me: "I love your work."
Joss: "Thanks."
Me: "I really, really... (long, awkward pause) ...love your work."
Joss: "...thanks."
It's the only time I've had a fanboy self implosion and could not function as a normal human being.

I got Paul Dini to sign the Dark Claw issue in my Amalgam TPB, because him and Brice Timm were always listed in the Dark Claw Adventures credits as "Bruce Dini and Paul Timm". His wife didn't get it, and I couldn't function enough to explain, so I just left and went back later with a bunch of his ACTUAL stuff.
Lou Ferrigno was at that same con, charging $30 for a picture and an autograph. I didn't see anyone go to his table at all. Actually one guy went, snapped a picture with his own digital camera, and ran away.

I haven't had mine yet. But i'm glad other ppl have. I hope to join the club soon. I'd love to meet David Mack or Joe Casey or even the Kubert Brothers. That would rock for me. Also a big moment would be meeting Kaare Andrews.Loved his Spider Clan series and his Matrix artwork.

For me, the first essay ever to appear on iFanboy (http://web.archive.org/web/20010428212500/www.ifanboy.com/view.cgi/columns/renaissance.html) sums it up pretty well. Since then, there have been a lot of moments, since I've met a lot of people, and even befriended some, which was cool, but nothing's ever topped that first time at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2000.
Ron Garney was one of the first comics people that I ever met. I locked and said the douchiest thing I've ever said. No I won't tell you what it is.
I'm not even really a fan of his. I respect his work and his work ethic but he's no Maleev.

ANd finally, meeting Mick Foley. He complimented me on my Voltron shirt.
Very cool. I have always been a big Foley fan.
My comic moment would have been meeting Todd McFarlane back in the early 90's. I was about 14 at the time, so meeting him was very exciting.

Boy, I'm pretty old to not have had this moment yet! Not enough conventions in St. Louis, I guess. Oh! I did meet Worf one time.

Apparently the creator of Ghost Rider is at the STL "convention" this weekend.
I'd like to meet Daniel Way. It wouldn't be nice. I still think that it would qualify as a fanboy moment though.
