I'm confused... it said "video will be public in 3 hrs 22 mins" or something then it just said download, then there was a notice saying members only. It worked when logged in though. I wonder why the urls arent their normal hashed selves.

Well I just made a membership payment for 5$ a month to revision3.
Also I like Diggtown, but I have had many problems with those servers. So Go with Diggtown, but if you just want to support and get episodes for money then donate.

Man, Kevin could make a whole separate show where each episode is just him telling another embarassingly ****ed up story of his personal adventures. Like, Mr. Rogers style. All dressed up in a cardigan. Maybe sitting on a rocking chair in front of a fireplace. With a pipe and a snifter of brandy.

Not that you have to pay every month(which I'm guessing is why you chose this option), but you realize $5 a month is more expensive than $50 a year right?
Anyway, this episode was another good one. Seems like they've been more laid back lately... they almost seem to get more drunk on purpose because they know it's funny, and hell, they probably have more fun doing it that way anyway. I'm just glad to see so many episodes over the past few months being so good. Some of the best episodes have happened in probably the last 10-12 episodes.

1. As long as i don't modify them to say "buy pepsi" before the show starts or something, im not violation the CC license.
2. You don't HAVE to donate, look up the definition of donate.
3. You would donate because you can donate a buck, or 50 cents, it doesnt matter. Some people cant SUBSCRIBE to donate 5 a month. It's not like im living high on the hog here from these donations, i drive a ****ing escort come on lol. I spend a lot of time syncing the mirrors and coding and donations help pay for the hosting and subscriptions.
4. It would be courteous because if they did offer something other than the raw podcast some people who REALLY like the show would go "hey, they really do give special attention to donors, i'll donate for THAT".
It's the same as with any other "pirating situation". If they didn't get it from me, they would just wait, and not donate to rev3 anyway. I do feel bad when people say "imma stop donating cuz i can get it from that site" because those are the people who like rev3, but were either turned off by bad download performance or level of service provided, and i leave them an out.
End of discussion, dont flame more please, this is a ep66 thread and im sorry for throwing it off track.

Crumbles, as striker alludes to before me, Revision3 content is distributed under the Creative Commons license. Striker has every right to do what he does, and the boys at rev3 are smart dudes. They know the license was designed for this very purpose, and would change it if it was a problem.

I'm pretty sure striker reports all his download information to them so they can submit it to their sponsors, which is where they really make their money anyway.

Why I donate to diggdown.net
For 0ver 6 months I was a subscriber to Rev3. I love everything about digg and diggnation, I bought the t-shirt the minute it became available, ect. My member status on digg and rev3 is available in that other thread. Been here since day 1.
Too many times the show was delayed without an explanation or an indication on when to expect it. I was paying for a service that was not as consistant as I expected it to be.
[BTW: Yes, I realized that $5/mo is more expensive than $50/yr but I did not care. Ten dollars does not make-or-break a deal for me. I wanted to support the show.]
When diggnation became inconsistant with releases, I cancelled my subscription because I was not getting what I felt I was was paying for. Diggnation is part of digg-a business-that I felt was not up to par with my expectations.
Within weeks I realized diggdown DID offer the consistancy and content I was looking for.
Once a show was finally released, it was made available to me free-of-charge. Consistantly. Not to mention faster download times than Rev3 offered.
This is why I pay diggdown.
Content PLUS consistancy.
If HE can figure out lots of people are counting on him and come through time after time:

He only has it AFTER it's released ANYWAY. So if you were paying digg for the early download, you'd have it even faster than diggtown.
Is everyone this stupid? Not too mention, I download over 1.2 megs a second from REV3 (cachefly) You guys need to check out your ISP's if you're getting slow downloads. Where do you think those mirrors are uploading the movie files so fast from for you to download in the first place?

Seriously, give it a rest. Diggnation is released under the creative commons license. Some want to support Rev3 directly by paying, cachefly provide damn fast service for most, and others want to use diggdown.
Just remember, I think we're all in the minority here: most people use iTunes :)

I never even knew about diggdown, and even when I know I won't want to use it.
One of the big things that I've realized, is that if you download from another source besides the main source, then they don't get the numbers and the ad revenue that they normally would. The only reason I'm using it is because this episode I was featured on (The juggler at the end). I'm surprised as to how little hits I've got on my myspace profile, but whatever. Either way, I normally wouldn't because of the reasons before.
