Running Time: 00:38:47
This week on iFanboy, Ron, Josh & Conor take on all manner of audience submitted (comic book related) relationship questions! The guys have absolutely no training in this capacity but they do claim to be board certified in the art of love. As a precautionary measure, they sought some female input, just to keep them honest.

Hahahaha....
This is classic so far.
I've been waiting for this one for a while. Sadly, I didn't get off my ass and call in. I had something awesome planned.

Great episode,
I haven't laughed so hard in months.
I had a question to send in but never got around to it, it was OK though cause it was about my girlfriend giving out about how much I spent on comics and you basically covered it.
We talked it over and I pointed I spend a lot less on comics than she does on male whore's. So we're good now.

if I was single and you were a lady - I'd date you
I don't know if that was meant to sound funny, creepy, or oddly encouraging
I'd like to think it was all 3.

Awwww... you all looked so good in your suits.
Thoughts
-Re comic babbling conversations: I think recognizing "Oh I'm probably babbling," is a good sign. That's introspection, some people seem to be entirely lacking that. Read the person and maybe lay off for awhilein the conversation. Once you get to know them better their tolerance will get higher. In short, don't HIDE your love... but just be considerate of them as well. That said, I wish I knew a good babbler. I'd love to just stretch out and get caught up on X-men continuity or something (days...?).
-The girl who likes comics question isn't that weird! While I'm not looking for a boyfriend, I do wish I could meet more people who were into comics. I've never known the the comic store to be a good place to meet people. Everone keeps to themselves. It's taken me two months before my cbg started to recognize us. I'm crossing my fingers for Wizard World.
-Personal Note: I met my fiance on a message board online. (I got him into comics later, but he mainly reads conan and warhammer books. Win? I'm not sure.)
-I think Ron really hit on it, comics are not often the issue... it's deeper things like money, selfishness, trust, that just manifests itself through comics because it's a big interest for us. Good summation.

I have to give props to the ladies of iFanboy on this one. When the intro ended and there were six people on the couch, I thought, "Oh, those poor women, thrust into the melee and forced to hold their own amongst these three jokers with their history and relative expertise on the subject and their relative comfort in front of the audience. This is going to be awkward." After a moment or two, though, they dove right in with some pretty hilarious contributions. Hats off!

Hey now, the new Conan is good pulp-y comics (Red Sonja too). You may make of that what you will.
Do you know how many times i've been told that?
But it's absolutely true! Why just this afternoon I had a GREAT conversation with a lovely girl while picking up some supplies at a store. We hit it off fairly well and it was just a totally random thing that got the conversation started. Not saying every person you say hello to is a potential partner but it happens from time to time.

I have to say that I think this is one of the best video shows yet. The ladies were a great addition. Smart choice asking them to be on the show, this topic really needed a woman's POV.

I'm a bad promoter. Of myself and even things I like. I'd be a terrible salesman.
"You don't want to buy this set of encyclopedias do you? They're gonna be out of date in a month."
"You don't want to buy this fountain of youth water do you? Then you'd live forever."
"You don't want to buy these Tank Girl vibrators do you? They'll make you happy in a very down-there kinda way."
"You don't want to buy your hopes and dreams do you? Then you'll only have nightmares left."

It's all about selling it. I hate myself more than you ever could hate me, BUTTTTTT I can sell me. It's bullshit sure, but all sales are. Whether you're selling yourself to someone, your work to someone, or you goods to someone. You have to make them believe that you believe that you're worth it.
I hope that you will be less cynical at my age.

I haven't actually watched this but the fact that it has a run time of longer than 30 seconds shows that our trio here knows nothing about love, i.e. that it doesn't exist.

Actually, who they are, and what relationship they have to us is a little beside the point. We kept it sort of ambiguous on purpose, because this show wasn't meant to introduce the world to the ladies in our lives. It was to get a different perspective on things.
You'll note that the amount of information given on them is the same amount of information given on us. You just know more about me, Ron, and Conor because we've been doing the show for a long time.

Good Show. Thought I would give a follow up seeing how you read my letter on the show. Who was you might ask? I was the gent who wife shouted his name weekly. Lets start with Ron’s advise with there wasn’t any just a weird comment on tampons, Ron I don’t want to meet the woman who spends $30 a week on tampons. She is probably in a bad mood daily. Conner, throw it back in her face? Well I would, but honestly there is nothing she spends money on. I am telling the truth, I’m a truly lucky man! I married a woman who HATES shopping. Grocery shopping makes her sick. It is AWESOME! So throwing it back in her face wouldn’t work, besides I really like my wife and would like to keep her around. On the other hand she has started reading Buffy the Vampire Slayer (because she loved the TV show and owns most of the season) but hates to have to wait for an entire month for the next one. It’s a start. Loved the show, just wish the woman would have spoke up more and given more advise.

My thoughts on talking about comics too much.
There is a very specific cue that you'll receive if the other person wants you to keep talking about comics. It's called a "question." If she says, "Oh, that's interesting. So who are Spider-man's best villains?" That's your cue to give a brief response. Three sentences or less. If she says "Oh, that's interesting," or "That's cute." That is not an invitation to keep talking about it. Note the lack of an interrogatory.
