Anyone think the SG-1 series finale was great? Anyone hate it? Sound off.
Personally, I loved it, but it lacked that final "Get all the Ori" part I really needed.

Honestly I stopped watching when they threw the entire cast of Farscape in and fired MacGyver

Well they are releasing two movies (straight to video, I'm guessing) in the near future. One will finish off the Ori storyline, and the other is a stand alone.

Or at least that's what I heard.

So don't fret - there is more SG1 coming your way!

One is about the Ori the other is about Baal
Stargate: Continuum and Stargate: The Ark of Truth I believe are the movies names

I loved it, but the possibilities of the Adria+Ba'al character from last week boggle my mind. Oh well...

Knowing ahead of time that no storylines would be resolved (other than the poor Asgard :( ), this episode exceeded my expectations. It allowed the viewers to experience something like a neverending SG-1 plus the whole Vala/Daniel thing. The only part I had a problem with was the way Daniel laid into Vala about her flirting; I thought it was a little much but I guess it was due to the stress of the situation. Despite that, I thought it was a nice sort-of ending.

I liked the ending..as for RDA being "fired" he wasn't he left because he wanted to spend time with his kid or something. His production company does/did produce Stargate with MGM and he is executive producer.

meh. The last episode IMO was a good and fitting one to end the series on. As far as the rest of the season, there were a few episodes towards the end where it felt extremely rushed, like the Adria+Baal stuff. Seemed like they wanted to do it but then realized they won't have a chance to do the arc properly and therefore made 1 episode contain the majority of the arc. which made it feel like a rushed idea.

Well... she joins the principle cast. If you want to know exactly what that means, and don't mind the major spoilers send me a PM.

Oh, and I loved the series finale. The musical montage is one of my favorite parts of SG-1.5 (the way I refer to SG-1 after RDA).

I also think that a lot of SG-1.5 has felt kind of rushed. Atlantis has suffered from that as well. They seemed to constantly want to fit more and more into an episode, and the shows did suffer a little bit as a result. That said, I am still proud to own every available season on DVD. It's my favorite franchise ever, and I really hope that the DVD movies don't suck (even though I think they probably will).

I'm also left to wonder what this mysterious 3rd series will be about. Apparently it answers the question as to what the 9th chevron on the Stargate does. Apart from that though, we know nothing. Should be interesting.

I don't think that it is a secret that the divine Torri Higginson is leaving the show. This pretty much indicates the role that Carter will be playing on Atlantis.

I'm actually more excited to see more of Jewel Staite. She seems much leaner than from her "Firefly" days. It makes her look years older.

The Stargate SG-1 finale wasn't much of a finale at all. Like the final "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode, the finale was just an episode and not an end to the story.

I think the main issue I've been having with SG-1 and starting up with Atlantis has been people leaving the show. Some of what I would deem the worst episodes were the ones with Jonas Quinn. Seriously, the show had what? 5 seasons with Daniel. and he gets replaced. The one with Jack IMO wasn't as bad. Partly cause I was expecting something like that and because it wasn't just a straight replacement. Mitchell IMO feels completely different than Jack. Jonas felt like a direct replacement to Daniel. That and they kind of started a whole new story with Mitchell, the Ori etc.

I'm seriously sad to see some of the actors already abandoning Atlantis. They've only done it for 4 seasons, though Stargate is a series that strives because of the cast and stories. I'd hate for it to turn into like an "ER" where they just run through actors every few years.

I'm not sure that's the proper characterization. Higginson wanted to do other projects. "Stargate: Atlantis" was her first full-time series. She probably misjudged the amount of commitment that she wanted to make. Paul McGillion's exit seems to have not been his idea at all.

I don't care about spoilers I knew what was going to happen in the last ep way before it aired. I hear Paul McGillion will return for 2 eps dunno in what way though through appearing to McKay like the end of the ep he died or what.

Rainbow Sun Francks' character (Ford) was dropped because the writers felt like he didn't work with the team dynamic and you're right about McGillion. So, none of the actors so far have WANTED to go, except for Higginson. Personally, I think it'll be really interesting to see where they go with Carter on Atlantis, but have you SEEN what they've done to her hair? It looks really ****in' weird now.

What is it with the weird endings on TV this year!
