This should be fairly easy to do, make a revision3 folder wherever, let's say in My Documents, create folders for the shows where you will put them or configure them to be downloaded via RSS, then drag that folder onto the Start button, it should open up, and drag it where you want it to go. Let us know if it works out and I hope that is what you wanted.

That is what I want, only Windows doesn't let me drag it wherever I want. I can only drag it into the Internet and Email area, and there's no menu to go along with it.

Evan, when I tried that, this machine crashed. I can get it to the internet/e-mail area, but have been unable to get it to the right column.

Try creating the folder in C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Start Menu and then dragging/dropping. Cause, \Documents and settings\user\start menu\Programs is where you would go to rearrange the AlL Programs part, it might be where the folder would have to go.

I was hoping someone would know of a hack that would let me do this sort of thing. I'd probably even be willing to use ResHack if I knew which program dealt with the start menu items, and also what I'd need to add to the program in order to have Revision3 show up right above My Documents as a menu item.

I seem to br crashing your PC a lot lately:D
I'm trying it here as well, no luck. So, anyone else with ideas?

My idea would be to hack the Start Menu in order to let you drag whatever you want into the right column. So I guess this could either mean going through thousands of DLLs in order to find the one that deals with that exact thing, or to wade through all the crap on Google telling you how to change the word that appears on your Start Menu.

After using regmon to find the keys that define what is in that panel and a little googling i've given up lol. I don't think it's possible. Why not just use the classic start menu?

try this, open your start menu, left click -> properties -> customize -> advanced
now, scroll down until you see a button that says favorites menu, enable it. This will add your favorites folder to the start menu, change the icon, and put whatever files/folders you want inside your "favorites" folder (c:documents and settings -> owner -> favorites
i hope that this great illustration will help you....:D

That has to be one of the most useful programs that I've ever seen. Jesus Christ that's ****ing useful. Because of this I was actually able to use Google properly. This (http://translate.google.com/translate?sourceid=navclient-ff&hl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.babooforum.com.br%2Fidealbb%2Fv iew.asp%3FtopicID%3D522585) page (brought to you by Google's translate feature from its toolbar) tells you about adding an icon underneath the "Run" item, although not very useful since you're not able to expand its menu, while this (http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?hl=en&u=http://www.babooforum.com.br/idealbb/view.asp%3FtopicID%3D466220) page tell you how to replace the My Music and My Pictures folders, both very useless to me, right here for My Pictures (http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/smfoldermp.vbs) and here for My Music (http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/smfoldermm.vbs). This is the result:

I really wanted it to be at the top, but I gave up trying very hard when I realised that I could get it to appear as a menu on the Windows XP Start Menu.

I just got this really great idea. Because you can have another item at the bottom of the Start Menu, I could probably move each item on the start menu down one icon until Revision3 is up at the top, where you are able to have the folder as a menu. I would have thought of this yesterday if I hadn't been so burnt out after searching nonstop for 8 hours on this subject. I'll be back later.

I replaced My Pictures with the Revision3 folder, using this script (http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/smfoldermp.vbs). I just had to enter C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Desktop\Revision3 since that's where my folder is located. Then all I had to do was make sure that My Pictures was displayed as a menu by right-clicking the Start menu, selecting properties, then selecting Customize and going to Advanced. You also have to restart unless you right-click the Start menu, select properties, click the "Classic Start Menu" bullet, hit apply, click the "Start Menu" bullet, then click ok. Then there was also a script to replace My Music, found here (http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/smfoldermm.vbs), which I might use for some other folder.
