With Halo coming to comics with such a high-profile team hype kicking around, I thought it would be cool to discuss what other video games people would like to come to comics with their favorite writers and artists.

I think a Legend of Zelda comic written by Bill Willingham would be fantastic. He has such a knack for that fantasy kind of writing, plus with all the mythology of Zelda he would have quite a lot to work with. As an artist I think maybe Bryan Hitch could pull it off? I'm not too sure about he but that last ultimates issue with all the knights from Asguard coming over the rainbow to fight the daemons was pretty spectacular.

What video games would you like to see brought into the comic genre with a professional writer and artist?

I would read Greg Rucka's Pong.

Metroid has a cool mythology to it. That could work actually.

Metroid's got the crazy viruses and such....hmm....Morrison? Or Whedon if you want to play up the kick-ass girl bounty hunter angle.

A comic for Paperboy would be hilarious, and about two issues long

or Gear of War would make a good one

Alan Moore's the Suffering would be sweet, it has real story behind it. Jim Lee art maybe?

A Starcraft comic following Kerrigan or Raynor around would be pretty sweet. Mark Waid as a writer? I'm not sure about an artist.

This is exactly my kind of thread, expect multiple entries from me.

IDW's Metal Gear Solid comic has been pretty good (however it has changed the game's events just a little bit and is way too bloodless and action-free) the problem is that:

1. It barely comes out quarterly.
2. It follows the events of the games, I want to see a new story!

What I would want from a Metal Gear Solid Comic:

1. A new story staring Solid Snake (David Sears) during either his time as a Green Beret, or during the time between MGS1 and MGS2

2. Written by either Greg Rucka or novelist Vince Flynn and art by either:

Psy-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy.

An awesome game about government conspiracy and psychic powers.

A bit wacky, so I'd say it needs Matt Fraction on writing

and a slightly cartoony artist like Ed McGuinness

Oh yeah, I was wondering if you guys want me to make an "ask Six Gun" thread for when the Halo comic comes out, I freely admit that I'm way too obsessed with Halo and have read/played every single in-cannon part of the universe in detail and would love to answer any nerdy questions that may confound you non-Halo, Bendis/Maleev fans buying Uprising.

I have a 360 that I bought with my own money last year and I got the PS3 this week for my 17th birthday.

What, this one? I don't play a lot of video games, so I'm probably the wrong guy to ask.

How about a Resident Evil comic (no association with the movies)?

Or uh...Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors with art by Leinil Yu? Big melee battles in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms mode. I'd buy the hell out of that.

Streets of Rage 2 by Bendis and Cho!

I'm surprised Tom Clancy hasn't liscensed some sort of Rainbow 6 or Splinter Cell comic book already.

There are a few licensed Splinter Cell novels, I liked the first one and couldn't even finish the second. Haven't tried the third.

The Ghost Recon comic:

Written by Garth Ennis, drawn by

Jae Lee

Man that would be sweet, have Garth Ennis and Jae Lee ever worked together?

Is Jae's art a little too gritty for Ennis? (meaning his over the top violence would be too much in Jae Lee's style as opposed to the slightly tongue in cheek feel it sometimes has)

Is this something better explored in another thread?

I see your point, but I wouldn't want the violence in my Ghost Recon comic to tongue in cheek

True, and perhaps that's why Ennis isn't right. He's so over the top. Though I haven't read his war stories comics (that's him right?).

River City Ransom by Brubaker.

Kid Icarus by the guy who does Franklin Richards: Son of a Genius.

Conker's Bad Fur Day by Ennis.

NiGHTS by David Mack.

Hmm...

God of War - Rucka/Hitch
Shadow of the Colussus - Fraction/Humberto Ramos
Resident Evil - Mignola/Guy Davis
Ninja Gaiden - Frank Miller (I just read Ronin for the first time)
Metroid - Simone/Jim Lee

This thread delivers. Brought me back from the ether...
