There should be a systm episode about how to go about reading/writing to some devices onboard flash.

The one i'm focusing on in particular is the Sony MYLO, as it's a pretty good device, but if the Qtopia linux on it was opened up it would be alot better of a device. I don't have a clue about how to interface the onboard memory and read/write to it tho, so i can't do it myself. Dave seems to be really into hardware hacking so hopefully he can help!

It would also apply to so many other devices out there people may want to customize as well, which is why i thought it would make a great episode.

PS: Even if there is no episode, if anyone can point me in the correct direction on the subject I'd appreciate it.

Try checking the manufactures site for both the flash storage and the memory controller for datasheets. It'll be a good start. Post the links here, and I'm sure other members will chime in.

If you can't even get that far, just post the #'s off all the components with a GOOD image of the board (scan or pic, just make sure all the info is readable).
