A/V Sync

Sometimes when I burn tv shows or movies to dvd the audio is out of sync with the video by like a second or so. Has anyone ever had this problem when burning downloaded tv shows or movies. I know beggars can't be choosers but I was just wondering what I could do to try and fix it . Is there any software out there (free or not) that I can use to correct this?

What software are you using to convert & burn?

Well I use WinAVI to convert it to a .Vob file and then I burn the dvd using Nero.
