How many people back up, and what are your methods?

Maybe i will when hd-dvd-rs come out lol. Hard drives are expensive.

i'll burn some files to dvd, but usually i just copy stuff to a new hdd if it needs to be saved. If its really important, i'll stick it on my ftp as well.

i VERY rarely back-up (i know i should) and i just ghost my HD...everytime i need a new one, i just have Norton Ghost update all the files that have changed since the last time i made an image...it's great and if windows ever screws up, i have a image that i can boot to and it restores my HD EXACTLY like the image was in about 30mins

i use microsofts synctoy to backup some of my important files to a flash drive

Well I kinda just buy a new 300 GB HDD and throw some stuff on there, I really don't burn DVDs anymore, becuae it takes so long since my burners seem not to run at 16x anymore, and they will only burn at 4x.
I should but I don't, if i did I'd back up using some software to another harddrive.

When it comes to windows, I keep the install files of every program I install. Every once in a while I'll check to see if I have the newest version. If I don't I'll download it and save it. I have everything on my external hard drive. If I have really important files that I need to save (school papers, artwork, and such) then I'll save that as well. I'll also make a DVD of said files.
I do this maybe every 3 months. Or when I'm getting ready to reformat. It's almost time for me to do this again.

Backing up with DVDs is not an option for me. I have a 500GB data drive and it's mostly full. I've been toying with the idea of getting a 500GB external to do the occasional backup. It would be a shame if I lost all that data.

I am sorta lazy and back up using my Maxtor one touch external HDD.

Backup crucial local items to my server. I plan on implementing some kind of NAS backup system shortly.
