Whoa, back to basics! I still prefer a wooden spoon and wire wisk for most things. :) The highest tech I go is a blender. If I were to even start on kitchen gadgets, there'd be no stopping me, so I haven't started.

Gadgets. I love gadgets. With buttons and batteries and no real use!!

The magic bullet is one of my favorites....Even though the infomercials piss me off, it really is pretty handy for guacomole..

Why does it piss you off?

What ever you do, find a Cast Iron Skillet! The older the better. Then find a Cast Iron Pot. Deep frying in something electric SUCKS. You'll have complete success and no more greasy food. Cast iron retains the heat of the oil and once your fist batch is done the temp will quickly raise back to where you need it.

Perfect for hiking/camping! all you need is an iron skillet, Garlic, and some woodsman skills (the hunting, tracking, trapping, and killing of game). I can hunt burrtittos like no ones business. I do need help with tacos, they just don't appreciate my sparkling whit

A KitchenAid Stand Mixer (http://www.kitchenaid.com/catalog/category.jsp?categoryId=310) makes baking my tasty beer-pretzels a whole lot easier.

I guess I couldn't survive without the microwave, it's fast, easy to handle and it got me out of many troubles. Actually I kept all my appliance parts (http://www.pinoycook.net/maytag-parts.html) simple but efficient, I don't like pain in the head whit complicated performant ones.

Number 1 tool is a good quality chef's knife - makes things a lot easier.

I love my slow cooker though, chuck a load of stuff in before work, and you can come home to a nice casserole. Also great for curries, meatballs in tomato sauce, sausages in onion gravy, chilli beef, pretty much anything tastes nice when slow cooked all day :)
