haha, right? I think that they say that because they know thats the only way it will get recognized for what it is: yet another social networking site.

While the video does look pretty cool, it also looks kind of bloated and maybe too functional :cool:

I would have thought the only other digg killer could have been reddit. Just because it is a lightweight digg.com which some people - like rather than all the flashes and niceties of digg. THose two sites are the only ones I really look at for social news.

Its interesting. Its nothing new, just a integration of existing tools. RSS feeds, IM functionality and forum integration. Over all its too cluttered and im not into the design of the site. It looks smooth and im sure people will use it, but as a geek its just too shiny and pretty. Pretty is ok in my world if it has a function, but thats just trying to be pretty for the sake of being pretty and ends up cluttering the site design.

I applied and ill check it out. Kinda getting in a groove where im ingesting everything i can. Never know, might see something from a certain angle just as the moon lines up with the star : alpha omega totally rad beta 1 and i might get a new idea or something that might apply to my own projects. But yea, i cant imagine me using it permanently.

Alright, i just got my invitation. I'll check it out in an hour or so, and try to get a review up here eventually. I'll let you know if i have invites to pass out too, if anyone is interested.

err.. yeah, so that email that i so quickly wrote about saying i'd been invited? Well..... it was just a "we've gotten a lot of invite requests" email - not an actual invite :rolleyes:

I posted that i'd been invited 'cause the subject "Steramy invite request" and the first line says something or other about thanks for your interest, etc.. lol. Sorry about that :o
