As big of a geek as I am, I'm going on record in saying that:
I Kyle LeDare Reasons (yes that's my middle name) have never used eBay. I've never bought or sold a single thing on the site. The most I've ever done is browse.
Now, with that said I am interested in selling my PSP/Games/Accessories bundled together on eBay. I tried to sell it to my local pawn shop but they tried giving me $35 for the PSP and I laughed in their face. Is there anything I should know before I sell? Anything I should look into or do? General advice?

look around locally for one of those places that sell things on ebay for people. it's hard to get a good price for your item if you do have a history of selling things cause no one trust you. since you don't seem to make this a habit try one of those shops or someone who has a history cause you will get a better respond and more money. i got a friend that sells things for about 15 people cause we rarely have things to sell.
other than that take lots of pictures

Thats what I was afraid of. I figured it would be safer to get a more experienced eBay user to sell it. I have a few people in mind...

really is the best way if you don't plan on doing it all the time. like i said i have a friend who sells for a lot of people. it's just easier that way.

Wow, i'm surprised -- i thought i was the only geeky person that didn't use ebay!
And here is the very odd / eclectic list of things i have bought from ebay:
Nine Inch Nails paraphanalia
a paintball gun (or, a "marker" if you prefer)
an air-soft gun (long story, and i got in a lot of trouble :p )
a used cell phone
more NIN stuff

Dude the pawn shop doesn't want to sell your stuff. They want you to come back with the $35 and get the stuff back.
Why don't you put up a notice in the local newspaper. Sell the PSP for cash to a real person. Ebay is just a hassle.

i had no problem selling my stuff as a first time seller. dont send item(s) out until the check clears.
as far as those "we will sell it on ebay for you" type places, they get like 35% of what they sold it for.

If you do sell on ebay, don't take checks. Accept money orders only or paypal. ebay is a hassle for small stuff that has a limited resale value. You would probably get more selling the games individually and the console with the accessories together. But that would be more work.
Have you thought about half.com so the items can be listed for a while with no auction?
I'd try craigslist, but only local so you can meet the person and exchange actual cash. Or a used video game store might give you a decent in-store credit for the stuff.

Dude, why would you sell your PSP? I switched to custom firmware 3.51 M33 and it's been gaming bliss ever since. I can play ANY game for any system before the PSP as well as actual downloaded PSP games. :D
