Scifi dramedy.
Intelligently executed. Likeable characters. OK acting.
I enjoy it, and it was good enough to get a second season (2nd episode of the second season was on last night).
Anyone else watching this?
[For those that don't know - here is a some linkage (http://scifi.com/eureka)]

Plus, that chick Erica Cerra (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erica_Cerra) belongs in the hot chick thread (http://www.revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?p=166601#post166601). Unfortunately, there seems to be a shortage of good pictures of her.

I'll take Psychologists on Couches (http://www.scifi.com/eureka/cast/beverly/) for $500 thanks Alex.

Oh, I've had the hots for Deborah Farantino since back in her "Earth 2" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108758/) days.

I'm really enjoying Eureka this second season (not that I did not like the first season). I realized after last week it is the little things that make it funny. Like everyone now knows the sheriff well enough to make up the "sci-fi" manes for whatever is going on. Ice Funnel of death was my favorite so far this season. He doesn't even ask any more. They just tell him.
I also am really interested to see how the story arc with Henry plays out.

My only beef with the series is that, from episode to episode, the stories suck, but the overarching story is very good. When they use technobabble, they usually use it incorrectly or use the wrong technobabble. I really wish they had a physics professor or someone on the show as a consultant to tell them where things in the script don't make sense.

I liked the different references to his IQ throughout this weeks show - especially the Reno 111 one from "the Heathers".

See, that's what I didn't like about this ep. They tell the girls to shut the machine off, but they don't know how and Carter pulls out the power plug? For girls that are supposed to be geniuses, they are incredibly stupid.

True, but I know some smart people like that in real life. They are great if I need some complex programming done, but tend to forget about the little things like paying their bills.
I like the characters, and I think most of the stories are good. Mostly, it's light hearted scifi fluff, and that's ok.

I agree. I am enjoying the show, but there are moments like this where it falls apart. I mean, that's not bad scifi, that's bad writing. I can ignore the bad technobabble (just like I do when I watch a movie/show about computers/hackers/etc) but that was just a poorly written device to get Carter underneath the junk so it would fall on him.

I am the only one that hasn't progressed beyond a Masters (OK, I got half way there, then left the country).
Somehow, I am the one that gets called for "home help" advice, or help on how to do more mundane tasks (like changing a light switch, sweating copper for plumbing, dry wall repair). I've never been trained in any of that, I just figured it out (or used a book). Smart people have a hard time reaching outside their comfort zones for tasks like that.

I hate to mention the number of support calls from the average academic office...
Actually, one of the problems I had with the depiction of teenage "smart people" in Eureka is that they're all pretty freaking gorgeous. In my career, I've had the good fortune to rub elbows with some bona-fide genius types. Other than being brilliant, some of them were quite beautiful people. However, very few of them would make the cut at hotornot.com.

I've been watching since the pilot episode.
It's definitely not top of the class in most regards, but it's fun and quirky...definitely one of the shows I look forward to each week.
There are definitely some holes/odd writing here and there, but most of it can be overlooked. (The girls not knowing how to turn the machine off could be seen as typical high school games of 'she changed it, it's her fault, let her turn it off' or even being smart enough to notice the mass of metal hovering above it and using an excuse to keep from winding up underneath, like Carter did.) However, I do understand the oversight of the small, simple things if you're used to being focused on the complex. Most people have done that now and then.
Anyway, yeah, good show. (And nice to see a show I watch actually mentioned in the forums on occasion.)
