They are two different things.

I have seen a few posts already about stories and then people saying "discuss."

This is what Digg is for. You digg the story and you talk about it in the comments. It seems like people are just posting topics about front page Digg stories to get their post count up or just for the sake of posting.

Maybe its just me but I don't want the General forums to start getting clogged up with stuff from the Digg frontpage.

This shouldn't bother you in the first place, there is no point. Maybe your just saying this to up your post count. This has been discussed before.

Most of the threads started about stories on digg are important ones. If they are not, then how many have you seen, I don't think it really matters.

Yeah good point....Anything can be a digg story though. And who cares? If nobody responds to it it will ultimately wash away and you will be content so relax....Its the general section of the revision3 forum. All in good fun.
