View Full Version : My wife thinks Dan is gay (as in homosexual)

vrincon

i've been trying to get the wife into rev3 content and while watching TRS she turned and ask "is he gay?", which i responded "No, I believe he has a girlfriend" (which i think was metioned on one of the eps). She said that Dan tends to look deeply into Alex and Jeff and said to have notice a couple times Dan checking out the other guy (i shit you not). I stood firm believing in my heart than Dan is in fact hetro but just grew up very shelter so he is like a toddler learn for the first time how to interact with "people". if anyone can back me up (dan especially) it would be greatly appreciated.

Does it even really matter? If he came out of the closet one day would you just be like "I hate every thing that he is ever done because he is gay." I personally don't even know why you care.

Anyways, I'm like almost 100% sure he isn't gay and the only reason I say almost is because I don't know the guy and can only go what he says and I believe he stated having a girlfriend and I might be wrong but I think she was at the birthday party for him when he received the 360. I think she got him the DS but im not 100% sure.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Dan is not gay. As a gay guy though, it's a total loss for all gay men everywhere as I can safely say Dan is HAWT. Not that Jeff and Alex are not in their own way too....believe me, there have been times when I wished the boys would just shut up and go at it. Well im gonna be harsh here my friend perhaps. "Gay" is not owned by anyone. Gay used to mean happy, then it meant something else, now it means lame. I put it in here cause it just fit a lame thread about dan being gay. Who cares if he is, who cares if anyone is. Hence the joke.

This is something your just gonna have to get used to and let it slide bro. Its part of my culture of IRC chatting and MMO's and im not gonna get all PC at every turn anymore. Ive been so backed into a corner that i dont even know what to say so i just didnt talk cause everything offends someone some where and i care enough to not wanna hurt anyone. But this is part of the vocabulary and it has nothing to do with sexual preference anymore.

I hope we still cool bro.

Nicely stated, ya friggen breeder. :p

But not being gay, you don't know how it can hurt in certain contexts. You say the "n" word regular, and think it's got a different meaning just cause African-American comics and rappers use it? Not bidgen, just discussin. And yeah, we still cool.

Well, let's go back to your original post then, shall we?

"I stood firm believing in my heart than Dan is in fact hetro "

That sounds like:
a) you give too much of a damn about a guy you never and may never meet.
b) you are too concerned about a total strangers sexual preference.
c) His sexual preference is of such an important connection to you that it really goes beyond the entertainment of a podcast and deep into your heart.
d) The idea of Dan's sexuality makes you stand firm. Read into that what you will.

e) because i realize what it's like for people (and i know i'll get even more heat for this) to pass judgement quickly. well I'm tired if being pushed around and I do know what its like cause i have had people think I was gay and slander me. Hell there was a time where I was asking myself if i was and I might not have been but I let it ride to see what the truth was and I know how it can rock you. But so are a lot of things in life. I mean do you want that to forever be stuck as a slanderious term or do you want it to evolve and mean something different.

But whatever dudes I don't wanna be the guy that hates gays or homosexuals... Sigh whatever friendly . Once again I'll change my shit to accommodate other people. Sure would be nice if people would show a hint of caring and concern for my feelings as I do over and over.

I know I've been noticing more and more that a lot of GLBT people are coming out of the second closet....the nerd closet! ( I myself have never hidden either affiiliation. Hell, I don't think I could if I wanted to ) In fact, there is going to be a new video podcast very, very soon that will be made for that specific demographic in mind. Keep your eyes peeled.

But just for the record, that doesn't mean you should stop watching the TRShow...the shows will be somewhat similar but not exactly the same.

You know whats funny. Im the guy thats always shunning people when they talk bad about gay people or black people or say anything about anyone that might hurt their feelings. Im the guy that stops mid sentence and lets you talk cause im so concerned about you having your turn. And around here (florida) thats like playing a alliance toon in a town of horde on a VERY PVP server. No /wave so you can keep your quest going, TONS of corpse camping. Teams of them infact.

To be clear i didnt mean to hurt anyones feelings, i honestly was making a joke about how stupid a post it is to be concerned about anyones sexual preference and when it was challenged the utter hell ( no exaggeration, i took today off cause yesterday was so bad ) that was my day reacted back at the wrong people. So used to being attacked down here for being a " dirty hippy " or a geek or refusing to laugh at their gay jokes or whatever else the intolerant pricks around here cant accept that it just popped off. Normally i would have apologized and done whatever to make anyone comfortable, actually normally i wouldnt have even posted that cause i thought it might be offensive but i saw my chance to lash out a insensitive prick in my mind at the time ( the OP ) and took it. Talk about instant karma eh? So im sorry, I actually really feel bad cause i let the bullshit that goes on in this town affect my interaction with people that i see as my own kind. People i hope to meet and be friends with some day.

Anyway, i just wanted to make it clear. God, the last thing i wanna be is " iccanui the gay basher ", not cause its not cool, because its wrong. God i wish i was out of here and in Cali already :(

Not political correctness, just plain courtesy.

An opinion, like any statement, can still be subject to fallacy. Like the statement that having gay friends disproves homophobia. I'm not sure that it does.

In any case, you should be aware of Rule #3 in the forum rules of conduct.

3. Be kind to other members by showing respect to their opinions and feelings. Making false claims about a person or company is prohibited. The use of the Revision3 forums is a privilege, not a right. Having a negative attitude, being a snob, and flaming will not be tolerated anywhere.
