View Full Version : Is there something wrong with me?

So I got an email today telling me that I won a competition at the local movie theatre chain. The prize for winning was Spiderman 1 & 2 on DVD and... a PS3

The problem is, I can't stand Playstation. In fact, I'm not that much of a console gamer in general. I've only ever owned two in my life - an N64 and a Wii. I know I should be excited because I've got one of the most expensive gaming products on the market, but I'm more hyped about getting to see Spiderman 1 again (never picked it up on DVD as I was waiting for the 3-in-1 boxed set).

Is there something wrong with me?

I know I know. it was a truth mixed with a bad joke.

Honestly I would sell the PS3 also and put it towards a HDTV...been lusting after this 600$ 32inch Vizio LCD tv.

100% legit. Just went and picked it up too. The sad thing is the DVD's don't come in for another week or so, so I'm stuck with just the PS3 and no games (because Sony didn't think to include any).

As for selling it, I txt'd my flatmate soon after getting the email and she offered on the spot to buy it from me. I may even only charge her 'mates rates' for it too :p (which, considering the darn things are NZ$1200+ here, is a good thing)

Keep it as a BluRay DVD.
You might even want to play a game on it occassionally.

It's quite simple really: US$1 = NZ$2 (though currently it's closer to US$0.80 = NZ$1)

Oh, and all our notes have different colours, unlike the confusing homogeny of US greenbacks :p

American money is coloured too!

Notice the subtle colourings of the $10, $20, and $50 (lower notes, the upper ones are Swiss Francs)? How can anyone say these are not colourful?? The muted colours allow you to carry a wallet full of $100s without advertising the fact based on the garish colour schemes in use in other parts of the world.

(sarcasm OK, it was sarcasm)

When it comes to telling one note from the other quickly, I like to be able to tell by colour which is which.

Yeah, there's a slight difference between the notes (I've got some $10's and $20's here as prep for a trip State-side next month), but it's only slight. The sort of thing you'd miss in a dark bar after a few tequilas.

Or you can stick it on a shelf. One day it will be a relic of the past, akin to 8-track players and Betamax players.

How much use would you get out of a mere 60Gb PS3 that is Region 4 encoded?

Okay, probably a fair bit, but still :p
