For anyone who has seen Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: in the final battle between Dumbledore and Voldemort, was anyone reminded of fire and water bending?
When Voldemort shot fire at Dumbledore I thought immediately of firebending, then when Dumbledore captured it in a ball of water it seemed exactly like a live action bending battle.
Did anyone else notice this?

I wasn't sure who would be stealing from who since the book probably came out first, but then I realized they didn't choreograph the scene in the book, so maybe just maybe they did lift the idea from Avatar :-o

No one stole from anyone, save maybe ancient stories handed down since the dawn of time.
Fire always is related to destruction and chaos and water is associated with healing and growth.
google around on fire spirits and mythology and water too. Im sure you will see what im talking about. Since the cave men there has been this definition and segregation. Probably cause through the ancient eyes of our elders " fire burn, fire destroy, fire can hurt, fire dangerous " and " water good, bring life to land, to plants we eat and the buffalo eat those plants so we can eat the buffalo. ( best primal man voice in text ). Over the years people make up gods to associate with them cause to a uneducated mind these things are magic and associate " gods " with it to help understand, which is probably where religion got started.. Ok sorry im getting off on a tangent.
Point i was making was, its old stuff ingrained in us. No one is steal from anything but our past.

I did think of avatar. But that was also the only good part of the movie.
