Diggnation should visit Australia

When watching the last episode of Diggnation (Hippie) and discussing where they should visit, maybe Australia would be a good suggestion.

They should do a diggnation tour. Fly all around the world and do a show all over. That would make everyone happy. Every episode Ales or Kevin says a new place they want to do a diggnation from but it never happens.

Australia is actually the place they've mentioned longer than any of the rest. The 'we should go to (x) country..' started with Japan and Australia. They went to Japan so if they are going in order of places mentioned since episode 1, and frequently, Australia should be next.

Visiting any country for anyone is always a great experience, but Australia would so truly freak Kevin and Alex out. There is no country in the world like Australia. Every country has it's past-time but Australia makes 'leisure' it's main thought. That country TRIES HARD to relax. They put work into having a casual relaxing lifestyle down there. Leisure is serious.

Agreed, at a bar, preferably somewhere that has James Squire's Amber Ale on tap as I think it's a beer the boys would like.

As for the Australia idea as a whole, it makes sense if they'r going to come to New Zealand to hop on a quick flight over to Sydney while they're on this side of the world. Turn 2 trips into 1 for a double diggnation downunder.

Kevin and Alex, sitting in the back of a beat up Holden Ute (not one of the nicer new ones), done up in their best Birdsville formal wear - shorts, thongs (flip flops, not butt floss), dress shirt, tux jacket, akubra (http://www.akubra.com.au/products.html), a slab of VB sitting between them in an esky ... Kevin *****ing about the flies (because it is Australia, and we have some of the most annoying flies in the world).

I lived in Australia for 13 years. The only place that is remotely true is in Cairns if you work in Tourism. The Sugercains and Banana farmers might make an argument of it.

I also find the Rugby games way to civilized.

Saying all that Australia is awesome. I highly recomend Sydney as that is my town. If you don't mind slumming it a bit, you guys will have a ton more fun at a Backbackers with the brits then at some fancy pants hotel. If you're doing the Beach thing Bondi is the best as it's easy to go to the city for night time hijinks.

One thing I would recomend to any American though. Is find a group of Aussies and find out about cricket games. On TV and the actual sport insanely boring. It's awful. Go to a game, and you'll have a blast. Especially if it's Australia VS England. Australia is all about the sport. Although as a game I enjoy Rugby League, but for atmosphere nothing beats a Sydney Swans AFL game.
