Just curious, we've been kinda talking about this in other threads, but just wanted to see what people would say.

Someone who is kind, easy to get along with, loyal, has similar taste in music, and in movies.

That guy is so frustrating to listen to, it hurts my brain.
Oh, and due to recent events, I am re-evaluating what I look for in a mate.

I don't really look for anything, I'm perfectly happy being completely single.
However, for sake of conversation, somebody who is as smart, or smarter than I am. During high school, there were a bunch of hot chick who were 'hot chick thread' material, but nothing turns me on more than a girl who can answer a question I can't in math class.
Being kinky and open-minded wouldn't hurt either ;)

I go in looking for nothing, and am therefore pleased with finding out each and every little thing along the way. I enjoy getting all the bad things as well as the good. You can learn from the bad things too.

Having spent something like eighteen hours on buses this past weekend, that we have a similar sense of humor seems more important than ever. Otherwise it's no fun. I could get on with a 90-year-old KKK member and serial rapist if we thought the same things were funny. Which, sadly, we very well might.
That we have similar values is pretty important, partly for practical reasons--avoiding coming into conflict over basic, day-to-day things, like transportation, food, and how we spend our free time. I don't think I could date someone who lived off of fast food and watched six hours of TV a night.
These are things I look for in friends as well. Girl/boyfriend is just best friend plus sexual attraction for me, really.

Let's see: Someone with a brain who can hold a conversation for more than a few minutes and doesn't mind talking about unpopular topics now and then. Someone who has similar interests to me, and can put up with my rather geeky interests. Looks are good, but they don't have to be Jessica Biel level, just not Roseanne Barr level. Also, someone who doesn't mind that I don't have a car, nor the urge to get one, and enjoy the occasional cigar. I also prefer 'mates' who are not religious, mostly because I'm not and don't want to risk complication.
Yeah, I was single a long time.

Well, he's gotta be a guy, for one. Taller than me.
Intelligent, kind, makes me laugh, ambitious, likes animals, makes me feel safe, not be an abusive jerk (had enough of those, thank you), no kids, no pre-existing significant other.
I am hella turned on by how smart Nick is. And I love how he doesn't make me feel like an idiot when helping me with school. And he's funny, and gives great hugs, and has a soft side, even if he tries to hide it.
A bonus is an accent. I get melty when he talks.
very true...
yep.
you can't go looking for mates. You can only go out(etc.) and have a good time. Having a good time is sexier than sitting on the sidelines.

IF there was such thing as a choosing of a soulmate...hmm
Well I will just have to say what I naturally fall for and no idea why....Usually it's a woman about my hieght red long hair has some meat on her bones fair skinned b,c,d(to me anything over that starts to look a bit funny) sized cup well shaped body ...her personality is usually free spirited spunky(not the dumb cheerleader type of spunky more like Cyndi Lauper spunky) and smart(I mean can really hold a deep convo if needed and a very open sense of humour and smiles quite a bit but also cans tand her ground.

The trick is not finding who you like, but liking who you find.

No the trick is making enough money to attract who you like. I mean lets just base the real for a second.
Not all woman are like that, so dont freak out on me if your not like that, but in MOST cases. Im willing to accept that people are different outside of this shizhole i currently call home, but thats how it is here.
