Ok, the SanFran art scene is one of the most active in the world at the moment, how cool would it be to have a show with exhibition openings, artist interviews and just general crap. I know Rev3 would do it right. Even Kevin Rose said he loves the place because theres so much art around. I mean look at fecalface, maybe you could even affiliate with them on something if they were interested in it?

well, Art is such a broad term. do you mean including everything from fine arts like drawing and painting..to photography..to film..to dance and music?

Yes, pretty much everything, the point is that the art scene in San Fransisco is so varied and thriving, I don't think it'd be hard to frequently get new varied content...

Oh having said that, I'm not sure how many of the people that Rev3 attracts usually would be interested in such a show...

well maybe. you would just need to find the right hosts to keep you interested, and theyd have to be well informed on allll the arts. itd be a pretty tough job imo.

My concern would it becoming too high-brow for some viewers. I love art, studied it, lived it in a commercial sense, but never got into the 'scene', so that's a foreign world to me.

Perhaps I'm wrong but art has always been a very personal thing from my perspective. Meaning what works for one person isn't necessarily going to work for another. Kinda like a general music show. notmtv and XLR8R both fail for me in that regard. I might watch a show here and there if it's covering a style I enjoy but I'm not going to watch all the time.

Then again, I'm one man, and certainly no paragon of Rev3 viewership.

i think you would have to have guest hosts for different segments ~ specialists in their fields and then guests brought in thru their knowledge covering say a particular dance company or a particular artist/art gallery or the work of a particular achitectural firm

three layers

show hosts

guest hosts ~ some recurrring ~ some one time only

quests

it would be a difficult job but finding someone who was into it could provide a wide range of result

from the SF opera/ballet to comic books to architecture and design features (like innovative lighting)

you would have new types of sponsors

A low brow art show would be nice, hell Brian Flynn and Frank Kozik are right down the street from them...

I don't think you would get Frank on cam though...
