After new Revision3 CEO Jim Louderback gave us an interview (http://blog.wired.com/business/2007/07/revision3-ceo-i.html) last week, I felt a slight twinge of guilt posting his alleged deal points (http://blog.wired.com/business/2007/07/rumor-control-r.html) after the fact—but no more. Last night the Wall Street Journal’s Kara Swisher posted a story (http://kara.allthingsd.com/20070724/om-malik-is-ready-for-his-close-up/) breaking the news that Om Malik will be joining Revision3 with a new show called “The GigaOm Show.” I guess that little detail slipped Louderback’s mind during our exchanges last week. Nicely played, Louderback. That aside, I’ve been following Malik’s work for some time and assuming he continues to pull no punches, I’m excited to see what the show looks like.

I had to google who he was... seems like it'll just be another run of the mill tech podcast.

This guy right ?
http://gigaom.com/
If its who i think it is this is a good thing. I tried showing a lot of Rev3 stuff to my dad and he didnt like diggnation and stuff cause .. well he is old (sorry pops, much love though ). From what i know of this guy he can fill a demographic thats not strong in rev3 right now. Ive seen this guy on cranky geeks, if its who i think it is and i have always enjoyed his presence. Plus i have to admit, his voice makes me feel like im listening to ghandi or something and i mean that in a good way. I listen to some buddhist podcasts and its a calming tone which is nice in world that sometimes is run by ruby rod...

Ruby : Everything must POP POP POP POP !! Green?
Lacky : Super Green... emerald green, any kinda green you want.
Ruby: Bzzzz !! /waves hand.

He's great on Cranky Geeks (http://www.crankygeeks.com/cgi-bin/mte/mt-search.cgi?IncludeBlogs=33&search=Om+Malik&submit.x=0&submit.y=0&submit=Search).
He's like Dvorak but with wisdom.

Dvorak isnt actually all that bad. He has been on TV talking about tech since the 70's i think. He works really well on twit i think, but the pace of cranky geeks moves a little too fast which doesnt compliment him well. I dont know, maybe im just not cranky enough yet. I hope i never am actually, i wanna be a mellow old man. Like leo :)

Ehhh...I heard him speak once on a podcast on Podtech and I couldn't get what he was saying. Maybe he was tired or drunk or something but if it's on Rev3 I'm definately giving it a chance.

He's like Dvorak but with wisdom.Well said :)
I think Om will definately put some tech into Rev3 ... lets face it, so far you have Diggnation (which might brush up against tech occassionally, but only in as much as it is submitted to Digg), Systm (which is tech as a much, much deeper level), and inDigital (which is consumer tech, not "tech" tech).
If it follows the same type of info he present on his website, this will be the tech news cast I think we hoped Diggnation would be.
Nice aquisition. Looking forward to the first podcast.

Is it wrong to say you're waiting on the show, rather than podcast?

Is it wrong to say you're waiting on the show, rather than podcast?Nope. If I am downloading it via a feed, I consider it a podcast (screw Leo LaP and his netcast campaign). Its still a show though :)

Netcasts you hate from people you distrust.
Kidding, love TWIT.

Well, it didn't take long for the "pilot" (http://revision3.com/gigaom/inaugural) to be released.
