GigaOM is amazing and it takes me back to when TechLive was on Tv. This is actually a very smart show and it really informs you about what's going on in the Tech World. This is exactly the kind of show that I wanted! THANK YOU Revision3 for taking a step in the right direction and hopefully this show will keep on going strong for a very long time. :D

First saw him on Cranky Geeks and remembered how he put life in that tedious videocast with his personal style and straight forward speak. Hearing that thick accent dishing out hip slang left and right is podcast gold.
I love that whole lounge lizard look and feel to his clothes (and the hot asian chick who is dressed for cocktails later on?), the cheesy couch and whorehouse red walls.
I say he still needs a lava lamp in the corner and maybe a use that carafe behind with some glasses and wine or maybe cognac. You know,..those big ass ones that you can swerve the wine around.
Oh yeah,,....dude,....gold chains. C'mon, Om...5-6 gold chains would seal the deal.
The visuals where somewhat reminiscent of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas set but the content was very good. The interview with the guy who looks like producer Robert Evans was interesting.
"You're not from around here?"
I say take it up a notch on the decor cheese factor, dont be afraid to adlib a few gems here and there and bring in guests who are not going to give you the standard PR speak. Take that love of Lindsay, Paris and other skankazoids and do tie ins with online paparazzi sites like x17, TMZ.com, WWTDD.com, egotastic.com.
Joy was actually pretty knowledgeable on tech so that's gonna be a plus. And she makes a good straight man to the Om man.
I'm back for show #2.
"AOL, the geniuses..."
I have heard 2 different opinions about this show so far, I need to check it out for myself.

This is it - the first online TV show that's worth the time of watching. (It doesn't come out too often - just once a week, it's edited very well.)
PS: Consider adding suggested stuff like a lava lamp or a carafe of wine, it would make the show look a little bit more elitist, which visually fits very good to Om.
And: Please, change the ugly smilies of this forum... *aaah*

The first worth the time of watching? Apparently you've never seen diggnation...or the totally rad show...or any other revision3 show for that matter.

I would have to say I do not agree. I wanted to like this show but ultimately I give it a general thumbs down due to poor poresentation. Maybe it'll get better, but not if Om's demeanor/attitude stays the same.

I too am a an om fan from cranky geeks and I agree this show could have legs.
I think for one the shots are from too far away. We need to see less of the set and close ups on our hosts. I love the fashion from Om. Something just isn't right maybe the hosts need change places, something. Also the silly side of Om needs to come out as much as the sarcastic abrasive side. Both are great but I think it balances better when he is silly and diffuses certain situations but then ramps it up and gets tough a few minutes later. He has a great personality but I think nerves are not letting it shine as much as when he is just the guest. Maybe initially a little more planning will make this show one of the best on Revision 3 and even the net. Om has connections so I think with good guests big names this show will shine. Joyce is good but we don't know her so it will take time to measure up but if she challenges Om a bit more then we have the banter he is so good at.:)

I think Joyce is great. She speaks very fluidly and smooth. Om seems like a know-it-all, and I know it's only the first two episodes, but something like that could possibly ruin it for some people. Having an opinion is one thing, but pomposity is quite another.

Om is a little pompous... That's why he's so funny.

The show is great. My girlfriend isn't as much of a geek as I am and she stayed for the whole thing. Om has a great personality (kind of like athe Godfather of Web2) and he really knows his information - this is his first time in front of the camera so give him a couple of episodes to get comfortable.
Joyce is great speaker, and the set is nice (maybe lighten it up a bit), but that ugly tree stump coffee table needs to go.
It's also nice to see Sarah Lane on the credit list. The best of TechTV seems to be coming to Rev3. Lets see Twit merge!
