Well their motto is "Linux for human beings". It's not specific about "kiddies".

I believe edubuntu is more for "kiddies" because it is made for the classroom.

Awesome, thanks for those links Lordfoul. As soon as i get my new hard drive (just ordered the other day, and quite excited about :D ) I'll have to see if i can get any distro working with my wireless card.

I've previously had Fedora (core 4) working with it, and I think that at one point i had Ubuntu too, but that was about a year ago, and my most recent attempts (Slack, Debian and Kubuntu) have yeilded nothing but frustration...

But looking at this link from your list (http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/wiki/index.php/Quick_HOWTO_:_Ch13_:_Linux_Wireless_Networking#Wir eless_Configuration_With_Debian_.2F_Ubuntu) i think i may have a chance, haha (yeah, i'm a noob at linux  ) And damn would it be nice to not have to run windoze all the time!

EDIT: Oh, btw, love your name... Assuming its based on the books i think it is, i love the author, just don't have time to read both the series!

Installed Edgy Eft yesterday, right after installing the most recent CVS of OpenBSD 4.0, which was exactly the same as every other version, and I have to admit I loved it. In the past 2 weeks I've installed both Suse 10.1 and Fedora Core 6 and Edgy Eft was the most enjoyable install easily.

And I suppose you posted the above using your Lynx browser? GUI's are here to stay; like it or lump it, doesn't matter.

Granted Ubuntu could use a new default gnome theme, Fedoras new theme is very nice, but its all changeable anyways.

I like Edgy. I dont like Gnome. Or Kde. >< I run FVWM. I hate people that say things like "/me looks at Ubuntu and throws up..." because thats just such a stupid reason to not like it considering it's all customizable and, whats even more stupid is the fact that the distro they run was most likely tweaked the hell out until it was to there liking.

I've noticed this trend, that with the exponential expansion of mankind's 'wisdom' being publically available on the internet, that the dangers of misinformation also match with symmetrical geometry. Often times, I thought it even playful, and even contributed to the madness, out of my own dark, and rather sarcastic sense of 'humor'. But now, it seems, well... jus' a bit less than funny. Sorry, went off into left field there...

...I was gonna' toss up this one, since I kinda' like added it to the linkbox that started this thread. lordfoul U rock. This was a damn good primer. However, double-check your work. Always do an analysis of the source. Save a lot of time with bugs that way. God I hate bugs.

http://www.linuxdevcenter.com/linux/cmd/

A lot of the (quote) n00bs (end-quote) out there would be best served with a survey of the basic tutorials, prior to advertising their ignorance. Not that being ignorant is bad. Sometimes, by itself, it tends to be funny. Some can even turn it into a game... Anyways. I did like the list. It took me a while to go through each one individually. Lot of reading. Didn't find out about Ubuntu until only recently. Man, it changed my life. Ended a relationship or two, but yeah, it kicks ass...

on the Avatar he had there... [Penguin with the shotgun]. LOL
That's awesome.http://www.hubbellpowersystems.com/POWERTEST/chance/images/cha_hotline_tool.gif
I think it would be much cooler though, to
continue with the 'bird-with-a-gun' metaphor,
if the Penguin was holding this kind
of "shotgun" though...
