To offset the other rude thread :)

This second episode proved to be just what i thought it would be. You guys are relaxing more and showing a much better synergy together. Im getting the feeling you like each other and thats a huge selling point. I get the feeling that Om might have read the feed back here and got disheartend, don't worry about it mate, your catering to a adult audience on a hip IPTV community. Not everyone is gonna get it cause you and Joyce are worlds a part from the infected crowd, so somethings won't mesh. But the show was good and is shaping up just fine. Just keep showing the common courtesy and friendliness to each other that you showed this week and I promise people will watch.

Oh and Joyce is hot. Sorry I couldnt hold it in. Smart beautiful women are the bomb :). Seriously though she has a very nice smile that takes the pure logical part of the show and elevates it to more entertaining to watch.

One thing though, if you do add in stuff like the thoughts coming form joyce, get with steve from TRS. The man is a genius, straight up. Doing it just to do it is fake and cookie cutter, but adding it to the flow of the show is a real art and like i said, he has got it nailed.

Anyway, see ya next week, i look forward too seeing it evolve more.

This has to be one of the best shows out there for good solid tech industry news presented in an entertaining manner. I find myself enjoying it more than Cranky Geeks (which I love). I enjoy the diversity of the show and find the hosts refreshingly entertaining.

Thanks for taking a chance on a show focusing on the industry, its headlines, and its key people.

Keep up the good work. Best Regards, Jim.

Yep, only #2 to Diggnation :D

Why not do a GigaOM show live in London? I know Om is going to the same convention as Kevin :)

Another thing i'd like to add in is that i'm a big fan of the random facts they include before commercial breaks :)

I Second That! :)

I'm going to be there for Diggnation, would be great to see GigaOM too. I guess it comes down to the current number of viewers/fans though with the show only being a few weeks/eps old.

This show fits my interests. There are so many backyard computers shows dealing with personal computing, mods etc. It's about time there was show based on the industry. Every day when I come to work I read the "Australian IT" news articles, which basically is IT Industry news within Australia (also big international announcements). There is always something new and interesting to read. Considering this show is based in Silicon Valley, There should be no shortages of people to interview. People in software, web, Telecommunications etc.

Think big OM! There is so much happening in IT, that a once a week podcast would be too slow to cover a lot of things! As things progress you might want to look at making this twice or three times a week. Get industry insiders to debate on your shows, there are so many telcos, hardware manufacturers etc at war it shouldn't be too hard to get some guests to say their piece on where they think the industry is or should be heading.

Make sure the topics are well researched. Make sure before you have guests on that you've read, IT news papers and IT sections in Finance papers that will give you a solid understanding on what's happening.

Just a few ideas.

Does he have any relation to Ramzi?

Does he have any relation to Ramzi?

hahaha thats funny

I think this show is the most professional looking and feeling show on the internet that I watch. When I am watching it I don't feel like I'm watching some podcast of the internet, I feel like I'm watching TV. Which is a great start to this type of media!

Just my £0.02 worth to give this thread a bump - GigaOM represtents something quite different (especially for revision3), and I for one like it, will continue to watch, and wish the show and everyone involved all the best.

at first I had my doubts I mean a GigaOM show ? I love his blog but a show?? will it took awhile to get used to it ..and I have to say this might be the purest form of tech news show out there they did a great job! I mean it might not be the fanciest of shows but heck I don't want my tech news to be fancy! and those little side graphic things are funny ...cuz we all know Mr. Om probably doesn't have the most eye pleasing graphical taste but I LOVE the show and have it as my RSS!

Keep up the good work! and people give them a little slack!

Also, where can I submit a newsworthy item to you guy's ?

Thanks!:)

I can see how it's not for everyone, but those that like the deep dive into the minds of what are essentially the movers and shakers in the industry it's a nice addition to the line up.

As an amateur blogger/podcaster myself I find all this stuff very interesting (how people are making money doing what they know and love), especially the last two episodes with their focus on entrepreneurship.

The show fills a very nice niche, do not let the haters get to you.

Love it or hate it, you have to admit this is perhaps the most profound podcast ever. Never before has any mainstream media video show covered the actual business behind any industry in this depth or perspective. Sure this doesn't say much, but its great to see someone looking at business beyond just what stocks are good that normal people can watch and understand. I really think this show could have a good influence on young people by giving them exposure to a new dimension of technology than just wiring up breadboards.
If you think about it, the founding fathers of the Information Age back in the 70s didn't know squat about anything but the nuts and bolts, and got burned or successful accordingly. By making even the most basic news and commentary more accessible, this could give newcomers a leg up like never before, which seems necessary in this lower budget era.

Hey!

(newbie for about 3 hours how - i'm up to ep #7)

As Rob5089 pointed out, more might be better;
that is, more coverage and more than once a week.

But, right now it's almost a full-time job
(if not - usually 1:10 ratio) to produce this
show, so that would mean hiring more people
to provide *focus* presentations and such.

My advice (or my 2cents Altarian) is to grow
it slowly - if at all during the first season.

For now: Leave the format as is - and see how it wears.

The show is just getting better and better - i
just found the site and am in ep #6 right now.
The format is great and such. This is the "trim-up"
stuff that always occurs; ie, "random fluxuations".

*if* you do decide to expand, i'd suggest looking
at the PBS/Rutgers "The Nightly Business Report"
with Paul Kangas - poss even contact him. It's
a superbly done pgm that's been on the air for
years now.

For me, the show is just about exactly what i need.
And will prob replace all of the print-media-like
sites that i dip into now and then.

And of course,

Frank.

And remember: For all of your decimal point needs,
it's gotta be: Frank's Discount Decimal Points!
