Everyone has their favorite food that should really never have come about. An example is peanut butter and celery. Who the f*** thought of that? Give me some other examples of foods that you wouldn't picture together but that actually work.

Simply the best fried chicken and best waffles you have ever had - together!Another vote for Roscoe's - even if it is on the "wrong side of the 210" in Pasadena ;) ... but you gotta get it with the onion gravy. If you are going to give yourself a coronary, it might as well be a good one.

My vote ... sweet potato french fries and beer. Take fry, salt it, dunk in beer. Repeat. Do it fast enough, and it doesn't get soggy. We have also tried splash beer over them like you would do with vinegar - that works too.

Lemon juice and broccoli

Nah, not weird enough. Pretty much any vegetable tastes good with lemon juice.

Soft Tacos and Mayo, that is some good eating. Wierd story, i was going to taco bell on my campus and buy 3 soft shell tacos, i always get the "fire" sauce packets and when i was eating my tacos in my dorm i saw a mayo packet, decided what the heck. BOOM!, i was amazed on how good it was.

I probably die a from a heart attack, but mayo will be by my side till death, literally

This is from my wife's family, so don't blame me for it.

Red Hots and apple sauce. You mix them together and then warm them up so the Red Hots melt. It's grrrrrrrreat!

Grew up in SoCal but have long been gone. Can you guess where? I will get back some day and I'll hit up Roscoe's.

When the second civil war comes, you will regret being up north ... and away from the good ol' chicken and waffles. Actually I miss Roscoes. Didn't go there often (I worked in Pasadena), but enjoyed it when I did go. My arteries are hardening just thinking about them ...

Firstly, Roscoe's Chicken 'n Waffles, dat be some sick shit, yo.

The chickens are great by themselves, as are the waffles and syrup, but when people get up in there and start wrapping the chicken in the waffles and pour syrup on it... sick.

Some of mah fav's are mac 'n cheese w/ ketchup, eggs w/ketchup, nothing too original. I love getting a plate of broccoli and melting american cheese over it.

PS: Teriyaki suace can be poured onto anything. Ketchup's out of his prime. Teriyaki is the new hot shit. srsly.

peanuts and pepsi...thats it unless you count the time i put ketchup on scrambled eggs...emmmmm!Ketchup on scrambled eggs is pretty standard in Australia ... although our "tomato sauce" isn't as sweet as the US stuff, so it does work better with eggs.

Some combinations are cultural ... like what you dip your french fries in. Hmmm. I feel a poll coming on (http://revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1159) ...

I think ketchup is very underrated. As a sauce, it's up to personal taste. But, ketchup in recipes can be a great substitute for thickeners, like corn starch. A couple table spoons can really bring a tang to soups, spaghetti sauces, gravies... a lot of stuff.

Didn't Alex and Heather use it in the beef stew? Perfect example. Just gotta go easy on the stuff. But with all the salt in it, it really can highlight other flavors.

If you are cooking with ketchup, get an organic one - they aren't as "artificially" sweet, and taste more tomatoey.
