Mountain Dew Game Fuel found in the wild...Verdict?

I just bought a 2 liter of the stuff, or as it likes to bill itself, "Dew with an invigorating blast of citrus cherry flavor with other natural flavors." So what does it TASTE like?

God, is it disgusting. It tastes like someone dissolved a whole bunch of cherry-flavored cough drops in a bottle of Code Red and then dumped twice as much sugar and caffeine into it than usual. After taking a swig of it, it feels like you just downed a bottle of cough syrup. Horrible aftertaste.

I can cut off the label and scan it for you guys if you'd like so you can read about how bad for you it is three days before it technically "comes out".

It does have a slightly unusual warning on the side: "Caffeine content: 48mg/8 FL OZ"

Personally, I like mountain dew just as it is...I don't need all the Code Red, Nutso Orange, Blow Your Mind Yellow...

and the fact that they made a drink that they're trying to target specifically to gamers is kind of lame.

Live Wire (The orange one?) was the best MT Dew spawn. I haven't seen it in forever though.

With that new stuff where can I get a IV drip of that. it's 100 degrees here and I was up way to late to put in a full day of work today.

Not only does this taste nothing like Livewire, despite being a slightly darker orange, but if you got an IV drip of this, you'd die...almost immediately, I'm guessing. I've got about half the bottle done already (I made it a life-long goal to finish it.) and the aftertaste isn't getting better.

Live Wire was awesome. Especially the Slurpee version they was in the quik-e-marts for awhile.

But, like deegraww, I haven't seen it in awhile. MD Code Red just doesn't cut it with me.

companies always seem to do things like that. They introduce a great product "for a limited time" and then never bring it back but instead introduce a crap product that nobody likes and keep it around forever.

I never tried Livewire...but now I wish I had...

Alright, my opinion is changing. Damn, Pepsi Co. is really smart.

I just took my mini-pizza out of the oven and started eating it with the Mountain dew and the cheese completely eliminates the aftertaste...I'm guessing that they assumed gamers drink Mountain Dew with pizza and...it's actually...good...together....

The last time I found it we were playing a show in Hickory NC. They had 2 full rows of the 16 oz bottles (bought them all) they had like 20 2 liters (bought them all) and 6 12 can packs (bought them all)

I tried to make that stuff last but it didn't. I miss livewire.

When Livewire stopped production I was disappointed.
I switched back to regular Mountain Dew, but it wasn't the same ... I didn't want caffeinated citrus soda, I wanted caffeinated ORANGE soda.

Enter Sunkist.

Its not quite as good as LiveWire, but I now enjoy it more than I do the regular Mountain Dew. If you haven't strayed past what Coca Cola and PepsiCo have to offer, its a great alternative.

Yeah, I think I heard that from a friend. I had planned on saving this thing, but it'll be everywhere. Anyway, it's growing on me. The more I drink it, the more I get used to the aftertaste. It's a damn sneaky way to get people to drink more if they did it on purpose.

Original Dew- Greatest soft drink ever
Code Red- Awesome
Livewire- Pretty good
Pitch Black- Needs to be brought back
Baja Blast- Only drink to get at Taco Bell

Oh Mountain Dew. Code Red and Live Wire were both great, I can't wait to try this new one. So it isn't out yet or what x.x? I have to count my change and hope I cann afford some

Live Wire only comes out during the summer season, and even so, it's still hard to find. I enjoy it once an awhile, but other then that I prefer regular Mt Dew's AMP, I love that stuff, it goes great with Vodka.

i got some of this game fuel in my fridge but havnt drank it yet...it has MC from Halo on it...not a big fan of the dew so thats the reason for it sitting in the cold.

I went to Taco Bell on saturday afternoon, my friend and I ate dinner there. I sware the ratio of Soda Water to Syrup was like 10 to 90. Because it was so strong I literally got sick from drinking it. Which is a shame, because I really do like the Baja Blast a lot.

I believe it just started showing up here in Michigan, and I just saw my first bottle today. Haven't tried it yet, as I don't always trust the spin-off Mountain Dews. Code Red is great, same with Baja Blast, but I didn't touch that Halloween Crap last year...
