Ok, I want to take the plunge and pick up a DS. Naturally, I'm gonna get the Pokemanz, but what else is there that's good?

I heard New Super Mario Bros was fun but kinda short. Mario Kart could be fun, I never really played much of the original, but it seems cool. Obviously, I've heard much about Puzzle Quest and Planet Puzzle League. I only really have enough scratch to get two games right now since I gotta conserve funds for PAX. What would you suggest to compliment Pokemon?

Cheers.

New Super Mario Bros is a must and it isn't very long but what's there is so much fun its worth it. Mario Kart not so much I think unless you have some one to play with its a bit boring.

Yea super mario isnt real long from beginning to end, but going back and getting all the coins is almost a second game in itself.

Elite beat agents is cool.

Jeff said that daffy duck game is good. I guess you use the stylus as a pencil and chase him around lkke in that old cartoon. Sounded fun.

Puzzle quest I heard is good and it looks like it too.

Mario kart hooked me for quite a while.

Brain age is actually fun.

Thats it for a start. I do find that short games are the most fun, no I game type games. Something you can flip the lid open and play for 5 or 10 Min the flip the lid and have it suspended for later.

Dude! How has no one said Animal Crossing? That is a must have for the DS! Not only is it one of the coolest Wifi games but it's just as good if not better than the Gamecube version. I'm going to go play mine again right now.

New Super Mario Bros is a definite buy. Didn't take me that long to beat but I keep going back to it since it's extremelly replayable. Hope this helps :)

Daxter :D .

How can they play Daxter if they don't own a PSP and are asking for DS Lite games?

DO NOT GET:

Megaman 5: Battle Network Double Team DS.

I would think anything with 'double team' in the title would be uncomfortable.

Trauma Center: Under the Knife is great. Along with a lot of games that have been named already.

Thanks for all the tips everyone. Gotta lot of thinking to do.

Also, do you think I should wait for the uber rad Crimson and Black version that comes bundled with Brain Age 2? It's mighty fancy lookin. Supposedly comes out August 21st, so that's cutting it pretty close since I leave for PAX on the 23rd.

Super Mario is a great game. It doesn't take long to beat, but there are enough other things to do, such as getting all the star coins along the way, that keep it interesting. Also, the minigames are pretty fun. I can play Mario poker for minutes on end.

My favorite game is Puzzle Quest. It seems a little simple when you first get started, but someone put a lot of thought into that game. I play it compulsively.

Where does one buy Puzzle Quest?

I just went to Best Buy this afternoon, and like always, I was really underwhelmed with the DSlite game selection. I ended up buying the Player's Choice: A Link to the Past. Used to play it every summer at the SNES at home in the basement... but I haven't been home in two summers :(

Anyhow, I have:

-Tetris (NEVER GETS OLD :D
-BrainAge
-New Super Mario (totally agree with the comments about going back to get all the stuff makes it a 2nd game... and I love the mini games!)
-MairoKart DS
-Lego Star Wars II (do NOT buy this game for *this* platform, they rushed production on it and it's really crappy)
-AnimalCrossing (I still don't get this game)
and now Zelda- Link to the past

Had the original DS, sold it because of lack of games. Bought the DS Lite, sold it because of lack of games. Contemplating getting one again, but don't want to make the same mistake thrice. I'd get Hotel Dusk and Puzzle Quest for sure.
