What was your favorite part of the film?

Mine was the end, all the way from where Leonidas kneels down, to the arrows clouding the sky and making sure they are all dead. That whole part was seriously just brillant in my eyes and I truly enjoyed it.

My favorite part was proving to my friends that 300 Spartans DID actually die, and it wasn't 299.

I just watched the movie again last night...my favorite part would have to be when young Leonidas returns from the wilderness and you see him drop his helmet on the ground and the camera pans up to see him wearing the wolf's skin, all while the song with the choir is playing in the background

I'm just curious, how exactly did you prove that?

When Leonidas first introduced the Spartans, they were introduced as his "300 personal bodyguards". That group + the King himself is 301. Then, he sent back one-eyed storyteller and that left 300 Spartans who perished at the hands of Xerxes. Tada.

The beginning where I was still impressed by the look of the movie. Then when I got used to the look, the movie got boring.

Well this one is only for me and the people in my theater.

When that one guy who's not important enough to remember is about to rape Leonidas' wife, a guy in the back let's out this audible "OH YEAH!" and everyone just busts out laughing.

Quoted for truth.

This movie had absolutely no escalaton. The bar was always at the top--no chance to care about anybody, no reason to care about anybody.

Sure, it looked cool. But, so does God of War. This movie is such an "eh" type thing for me.

what's bad is it could have been so great...it could have been what gladiator wasn't; an epic story of an empire trying to wipe out the spartans, there's so much dramatic possibility...

this movie is by far the best example of how the soundtrack plays such an intricate role in the films success. even though at first i didnt really think of the music the second time around i did and it was epic all by itself. i just bought the dvd today and im lovin it. the entire movie was epic no doubt, but if they went into a little bit more story behind the motivation of the persains than it would have been better.

i agree but im guessing Snyder wanted to stay true to the comic book and its story, which wasnt very deep and what drama was in the movie was added. If your looking for drama and a great story about spartans, may i suggest Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield

I felt for the 300 Spartans. I didn't want them to die. I wanted them to triumph. I've seen this movie many times and every time i don't want them to go down but understand they have to in order to win overall.

I just thought the fights were boring, and when fights all a movie has that's not a good thing.

Slowmotion doesn't = cool.
