So maybe this is really 1990s, but I think there should be some sort of TRS chat room. These boards are the best and I literally check them every two seconds. That being said I think it would be hella-awesome if there was like a chatroom where we could just talk as we watch shows or about things that take too much effort to post on the boards...
...I could see some awesome convos going down if we could all talk moment to moment-- especially if the TRS guys stopped in every now and then. Maybe it would even be cool for them to have a specified time once a week where they hit the chatroom for like 30min or something...
I dont know...I just feel like we should expand the awesomacity of this forum community we have...
am I alone here?

It's called IRC and it's incredibly easy to do. Too bad I don't know how. And, yes, I do think there already is one.

Here are idiot proof instructions.
1)Get an IRC client, Chatzilla works good (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/rt-messaging/chatzilla/)
2)type /attach irc.fdfnet.net into the prompt.
3)once connected type /join #totallyradshow into the prompt
4)???
5)Profit.

a lot of us old geekdromers are still on #geedrome over at the foxtrot.invictachat.net server. It never split off into geekscape/TRS which is good as it's not partisan in any way and we get to keep a lot of the members of each of the two podcasts.

You could also use one of those Firefox extensions, which shows people who are browsing the same website as you in a chat environment.
I'm now inhabiting this channel/server too. Heh.
(Don't worry, #geekdrome peeps, you know you're number one.)

Are you putting the # symbol in front of "totallyradshow"?

Ok, everyone. We are moving this chat room to a different IRC network because FDFNet.net is too flaky and causing problems. So, TuxOtaku who set up the last channel has founded a new one on EFNet.
SERVER: irc.efnet.net
CHANNEL: #TotallyRadShow
PS: Some right bastard already has "r3v" on that server, so I'll be on as r3vZERO (my gamertag) until I can snag the nick from him.

Hey Guys,
I'm the proprietor of the chatroom, JCHawk2003 just told me about this thread, thought I'd come in and give all the IRC newbies a better idea of how to connect to IRC.
First off, you need a client program, ChatZilla is alright, but lacks a lot of the real meat 'n' potatoes features of a real, full-blown IRC client.
That said, there are a number of great clients out there for just about every operating system ever created.
My personal recommendations are as follows however:
On Windows and Linux, I suggest XChat....now on Windows, there are two versions of the client, a paid version and a free version. The free version can be found @ www.silverex.org (http://www.silverex.org).
For you Linux/BSD heads (Like Me :) ), you probably already know about XChat, and how to get it, if you don't though.... check your distribution's package manager, it's bound to be in there, and only an apt-get, yum install, pkg_add, or emerge away. :)
On MacOSX, there IS a version of XChat, called XChat Aqua, but I'm not sure of the availability of it, or if the project is even still active. Your better bet, according to some of my applenerd friends, is a client called Colloquy. You can download it from www.colloquy****** (http://www.colloquy******)
Anyway.....all that stuff covered, actually connecting is easy, and here in this post, I'll go over how it's done in XChat, because that's what I use and recommend. Also, this little guide will get you set up so that you don't have to memorize all this stuff.
Once you start XChat for the first time, you'll see a network list pop up. look through that list for EFNet. Select it from the list, and then hit edit, once you're in the edit window for EFNet, check the box labelled "connect to this network on startup", and then under "channels to join", type #totallyradshow. Hit close, and then back in the network list, choose a nickname as well as backup nicknames for yourself in the text fields above. Once you've done that, select skip network list on startup, and then hit Connect. XChat will now automatically connect to EFNet and join #totallyradshow whenever you fire it up.
Now that we have that covered, a few little things you should know about IRC and how to use it.
So on IRC, there are lots of neat little commands you can use to do different things....most if not all irc commands look like this: /command
Having said that, here's a list of a few useful commands you should know:
/nick This Changes Your Nickname.
/me this outputs some text that says you're DOING something...like so: *TuxOtaku is teaching the n00bs how to gr0k IRC .
/msg This sends a private message to a given user, like so: /msg TRSJeff The Shield is freakln' awesomesauce! Note that only that user can see that message.
/part Use this to leave the channel.
/quit Use this to leave the channel and close the connection to EFNet.
/help lists all available commands, also if you type this along with a command name, it will give you a list of valid parameters for that command, and how to use them.
There are tons of other commands you can use, but most of those, like kick, ban, and topic commands, are available for channel operators only
Also, In the chatroom, you will notice that we have a friendly little chatroom bot called RadBot....say hello by /msg'ing him, he'll remember who you are the next time you log on, and as well, he can do some pretty cool stuff. Like set you up with a cool little tag line (also called info line) that will display when you enter the room. He can also pass private notes from you to other users, even if they aren't online.
That's about it, if you have any further questions, feel free to ask away...send me a private message on here, or email trsircquestions@gmail.com
Hope to see you all on IRC!
Ryan (TuxOtaku)

Yea. We are all still there. No need to create another one, imo.

The IRC has moved to irc.dal.net due to technical issues, the channel remains #totallyradshow.

Hey Guys,
Sorry for the constant hopping around on networks. It's been a pain finding a network that is stable enough, and will play nicely with the Channel Bot.
We are now PERMANENTLY registered on DALNet (irc.dal.net) The room name, as always, is staying the same.
Everything's up, running, and better than EVER. The DALNet guys have been very helpful and their network is rock solid. So things should go perfectly from here on out.
Hope to see all you guys on there!
