Okay, well I literally just got the opening to the first episode just now....after I passed it on youtube. I am an idiot. wow.

anyways, this has brought me to ask you guys what you think about TRS now versus what you thought when the first episode came out? was it love at first sight, or did the wacky antics of jeff, the loveable earnesty of dan, and the sharp witt of alex have to grow on you?

Even though it hasn't been THAT long, do you think the show or the dynamics have changed at all?

Maybe even what were your impressions of the show before it came out since there was some decent hype before it even started....

...just curious... :)

maybe even to the TRS guys if you read this: has the show changed at all from your original vision or does episode one still feel like "yesterday"?

well i had no idea who Dan and Jeff were, i only knew Dan was on Geekdrome(never watched it) i knew Alex since his first episode on TSS

i mainly checked out TRS cause of Alex, but something unexpected happened, the 3 of them made reviewing funny and more interesting

i say TRS really grew on me, i look more forward for it than diggnation :D

and now Dan and Jeff are just as awesome as Alex

I could not agree more. I checked it out because of Alex, but found something to love in Dan and Jeff. The Chemistry has only gotten better and Steve has gotten comfortable in making the visuals for the show pop.

If you guys want to see some of the best moments in TRS history, watch this montage (http://www.geevee.com/index.php?p=viewvideo&v=4402)

I used to watch geekdrome, and always thought Dan had some good points, and some points taht was fun to disagree with.
And my favorite episode of Geekdrome was the show where Jeff and Alex guesthosted, so I knew I was goign to watch the show.
Didn't like the first episode, but by 3 or 4 they had me.

Only thing I want right now is a better system for spoiler-preventing. Like some place on teh screen where it says what the guys are talking about.

Well I watched Geekdrome back in the day and remember Alex from TSS.

And the episode with Jeff, Dan, and Alex on Geekdrome rocked, so I knew this show was going to be great.

Never heard of Jeff or Dan before the show. I too knew Alex from his early TSS eps. I checked in on the day episode one was released, but I dined and slept elswhere for the first two episodes. I even said somewhere on digg "does nothing for me". Since then the chemistry has developed and everyone is allowed to be more natural which is better for the show.

I remember in epidosde 2, when they reviewed The Shooter, screaming at them to tell me who the hell was playing the main guy. After talking in detail about the flick for about 7 mins., they bring it up.

The intros were good. It was just too early yet for the structure to be evident and felt throughout. I don't mind whatsoever when they go off topic or when Dan brings up movies in other topics, I wholeheartedly encourage tangents. But for the early ones, it just didn't feel like there was enough distinction between info and fanboyism, now they embrace both and offer both with equal inspiration. If they have immense passion for something which doesn't even interest me, I'll still pay attention to their claims.

former geekdrome, now geekscape fan :) I enjoy watching TRS. Not my favorite podcast, but enjoyable. I don't find the show interactive enough, and I don't feel maybe as part of the show as other podcasts. This is the show that turned me onto diggnation though. I like that show better. Still not that bad. I agree with most of Alex's opinions, so I like to check out what he watches, and I like the way Jeff reviews games. Not really wacky or funny, but a pleasent, friendly and informative review show.

Loved it since the beginning. I also saw Jeff and Alex on Geekdrome, and knew that the show would rock based on that.

Btw, anyone know what episode what was? it'd be funny to go back and watch it after seeing TRS.

yeah, I also came to TRS from a TSS and Diggnation background and my immediate thought was--- who ARE these two other guys...

Now Jeff and Dan are perhaps the highlights of my viewing experience. I love the way all three interact...

I guess I agree that the show could be a little more interactive with the fans, since I know that feeling of distance that sometimes develops between the guys and the viewers--- but I LOVE the show regardless....

I knew Kevin from TSS then watched him on Diggnation first episode and remembered Alex. Then watched Geekdrome when they did the double episode with Kevin Smith. Really liked what Dan had to say so i just kept watching then when it ended i went to TRS. I like TRS a lot. Jeff mixes well with Dan and Alex. They have a unique way of representing a spectrum of opinions but also agreeing with each other. Keep it going guys. I'm glad that Geekdrome ended because now i got two podcasts that are both great TRS and Geekscape.

well at first i found out about it threw diggnation...but then i decided to watch an episode and now i am an avid viewer and i also wait in anticipation a lot more than i do diggnation. but as for show dynamic at first i thought that dan was a bit awkward but i have since seen that go away and hes awesome. at first i also thought that jeff was a bit to intense but hes awesome its that point of view that i find myself agreeing with more often than not. and alex is just alex a kick ass individual and i would love to see him on a TSS style show again, even though i wasnt old enough to see him on that show back in the day. in the end im just a ****in fan.

for me it was "love at first sight", Geekdrome was good but i never got into, the chemistry between Jeff, Dan, and Alex is awesome and the effects by Steve really make the show, IMO the best podcast out right now

....

That's exactly how I felt. I remember watching that episode and thinking, "Damn that was good. I wish those 3 would just do the show together."

Loved the first episode and it has continually gotten better since. Found out about TRS from watching Diggnation, never watched TSS since I live in Europe but no doubt would have if it was around. Look forward to the show every week.

Long live TRS....

I was saddened by the loss of Geekdrome and so I started watching both Geekscape and TRS. Geekscape took more of the comics side, where as TRS took the movies, TV, and games. The first few episodes were....meh...but I stuck with it and now it's one of my regular podcasts.

It was love at first sight with me, from the very first intro (Huge indy fan here). This show felt so much more like a real TV show than any other podcast out there, and I loved it. I've watched ever since.

I initially gave the show a shot because I had just stumbled upon diggnation a few episodes back, and Alex mentioned his new show coming up. TRS made me register here at Rev3, and I'm so glad I did.

I'd be interested to see what Jeff, Dan, or Alex might think themselves about how the show has changed...

even looking back at the first episode, it seems like they didn't quite know the atmosphere they wanted, and I feel like they really found the pace of the show come ep 3 or 4...
