Name one or two movies that you enjoyed the most this year. I would have to go with Zodiac.

****, working at a video store...this is REALLY touch.
The Fountain was a trip from beginning to end, very amazing to watch.
The Departed (love to Scorsese), 28 Weeks Later (love the pair).
All I can think of now.

Well the departed (my fav. of 2006) and the fountain (hated it) are 2006 movies so they don't count.
I just saw 28 days later and though it was good will have to check out the sequel when it comes out on DVD.

Grindhouse so far has been the most fun I've had at the cinema in a long while. It did everything right for me. It was hilarious, was exhilarating, created by two of my favorite directors (Rodriguez and Tarantino), and just was rad all the way through. Just was happy to see another Tarantino flick since I'm an obsessive Tarantino fanboy.
Second favorite film this year I'll pick the indie film Once. It was charming and touching from beginning to end and the music really requires listening to for it's excellence. Gotta love how it's a musical but not in the sense that there's huge dance numbers. It's a musical just stripped down to the bare essentials-musicians playing their instruments and singing. Beautiful.

Grindhouse was very good and very original but right now its my 4th fav. of 2007 b/c Of Death Proof. Planet Terror was badass but Death Proof had me bored until the car scene. The dialogue was just boring and pointless.
Also the "Dont "trailer was awesome!

Agreed...it was easy for me to overlook all that as soon as Kurt Russell said "Get ready to fly *****!"

Grindhouse
Bourne Ultimatum
The Simpsons

Its hard to pick just one. The two that stand out the most so far are Ratatouille and The Bourne Ultimatum. Superbad is looking like it'll be pretty damn awesome too though.

OHhh!!. This thread confused me. I was reading through everyone's replies before I realised it wasn't about the best two Bond films so far.

I realize nobody else thinks so, but Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.
Basically, I consider Dead Man's Chest and At World's End as a single long movie. And taken like that, there's just no part of it I didn't totally love. Alot of people said it was confusing, but once you get to the end I think that everything every character does makes perfect sense at every point.
I just never get tired of watching it.

The Fountain was (is) a Beautiful piece of work. It's more of a Philisophical Art Installation rather than a movie. Being in the UK, i'm probably going to have to wait about 734 years until they release most of the flicks you guys are talking about.
That said... Sunshine was showing not so long ago and I missed it, God damn! It's probably coz Jesus hates me. I haven't been eating enough Jesus Biscuits.

The new Bourne film was awesome.
Although, I think the film that I enjoyed the most this year and was like, "Holy shit." at the end was, 28 Weeks Later. It surprised the crap out of me how good it was.

Black Snake Moan
Knocked Up
Haven't seen Sunshine, yet. Sounds like it may make the list once I have.

Ratatouille for me was also my favorite so far this year. It delivered much more to me than a few movies I saw prior with real actors.
Ocean's 13 was enjoyable and Transformers was exciting. I didn't know about Sunshine until reading this thread. Looks interesting. I haven't had the chance to watch Hot Fuzz, 28 Weeks Later, Waitress, or The Bourne Ultimatum yet. Hehehe, Balls of Fury comes out in a few weeks.

2. Ocean's 13
3. Live Free or Die Hard
4. Simpsons The Movie
-> haven't seen Bourne yet, which will probably top my list)

I was just realising how I hadn't seen any movies mentioned in this thread or on TRS. I think the last movie I saw in a theatre was Spiderman 1. Before that, it was Saving Silverman, Joe Dirt and Mission Impossible. Those are the last 4 times I've been to a movie theatre in the past 5-6? years. Wow.
