Some pretty cool stuff. Nothing really jumped out at me, though. I wanna get a couple of the new Alex Ross Justice figures....ie - Lex Luthor, and the battle armor Green Lantern.
Also, looks like that Superman Doomsday flick is coming out in October. I'm excited for this one. It looks like it's gonna be done in the same style as the Superman: The Animated Show....which'd be awesome.

I've managed to pickup a few of the Justice figures and they look as good in person as they do in previews which is not always the case. They will definitely make a nice addition to your collection.

Well, your choices capture so well the original artistry of Darwyn Cooke, and the GL is arguably the best of the lot, somebody chose wisely for you. For that much quality at that price point, that's sweet. I was drawn to the black and white Batmans, and found about two or three that looked good, but that's due to who I prefer as an artist (which the statues are based on).

I think the ears on this one pick up XM radio:
http://photos.superherotimes.com/showphoto.php?photo=14157&cat=1450
Is this really how Tim Sale drew him? What was he thinking?
I have two "nitpicks" -- For the smaller figures, like the Superman Doomsday ones which are pretty cool, I don't see the reason why they have the leg joints, when you obviously can't pose them much beyond the way they're standing already -- so they just look like they got a majorly thick jock strap on under the tights.
And for the larger ones that actually have costumes made of cloth, two things I don't like: fabric will not hang properly unless you go up to 18" at least, and if you need those stands to make sure they can stand on their own, it just ruins the effect. They could go taller, get the cloth hanging right, make it so they can stand on their own, and still stay at about the same price. If some punk like me can do that, why can't they? I like the Shazam/Captain Marvel 13" collectors, even though it's a perfect example of my nitpicks ruining an otherwise fabulous figure --
http://photos.superherotimes.com/showphoto.php?photo=14138&cat=1416
(his cape strap looks like a noose, pity to see a blemish on a beauty)
And what the heck is all that bright blue in the Batmans in the 13" collectors set? What year is it?
That said, this is pretty hot:
http://photos.superherotimes.com/showphoto.php?photo=14142&cat=1416
and anybody got this guy's phone number? He's hot. My vote for best done hair, I like a guy with a nice haircut:

I don't know Conor, that looks kind of...ah...um..er, what's the word? Three letters rhymes with "spray."
But HEY! I say go for it. I didn't know Tom of Finland did Batman statues. Could be quite valuable....in the, er, um, ah, future...
(boy am I glad Fred beat me to this gag...)
the odd part for me wasn't that there was a bulge,
hey we've all worn spandex underwear right? there's always a bulge.
it was that he sculpted in the head too
there's a clear break and shadow
no this wasn't the first thing I noticed

But Seriously folks, assuming Conor's pick
http://photos.superherotimes.com/showphoto.php?photo=14368&cat=1464
is basically Kubert doing Miller (this is already heading into troubled waters as I type) I was very hard pressed (there I go again) trying to find any really serious, well, what's the word...(****shots) in DKR (where Batman shifted to black by the second half)...and yes, this is the first time in the more than 10 years I've had the darn book I've ever gone looking for Batman's, er, uh, well, I think you get my drift on the Batman woody thing (oh s***)
Was Kubert (who I haven't seen) a little more ...er, uh.. oh forget it. Never mind...Adam West and crew were never ashamed of displaying a little hard action in shiny shorts, so hey, go for it (the statue I mean). It's still a little too "Tom of Finland" for my tastes...but hey, different strokes for different folks, right? (Oh darn, there it goes again...)
And Fred, I was thinking "Oh that is SOOOO Tom of Finland even before I noticed Batman Jr. too, honest.

Sorry, didn't think of that ("NOW he tells us....") Some of us actually work for companies that have a "non-work related computing strictly banned" policy that's actually taken seriously... but where I work, if I had broken the rules, it wouldn't be what's on the screen, but me laughsploding for 30 minutes because you kids are so darn funny (as in "ha-ha" funny) that would of gotten me in trouble...
Oh you spoiled American fanboys, you always make me so jealous...Are there any Matt Wagner Batman figures? (perish forbid someone should get back on topic...)

The Batgirl one is boss as hell too. I've never bought one of these things before so I have no clue. $45 doesn't seem too bad though when everything else (like in the STATUE classification) is like over $200

Well, they're $45 because they're not big like a $100 statue would be.
From the website:
This limited edition, hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain bust measures approximately 5.5'' tall 2.5'' wide and 2.25" deep.

I was wondering when someone would hit that gag, but she does have lovely curves overall. I don't like her feet trapped tight together in stone--too strong a contrast with that wonderful face and pose. I feel like I want to run up with a sledge hammer and set her free...
Yes, that Donna Troy statue is pretty wonderful. Her face and hair is lovely, and beautifully scupted, the expression is full of depth, nicely colored. It's nice to see someone with a greater acting range than Kristen Kreuk.
Conor, I'm hoping the New Frontiers Batman and Flash are good, but achieving good mini figures with two characters where "cape and dynamism" are the keypoints is difficult, I am wondering if they can pull it off...
This is my image of what a good New Frontiers Batman should look like, based on Cooke's design:

Remember, you'll always have Hal. That figure is a gem, even compared to the other New Fronteirs figures. I am partial to a nice guy with a good haircut and and a tasteful turtleneck:

I'm not a big fan of the busts. I collect mainly figures. I have the JSA Mr. Terrific, Hourman and Dr. Midnight.
The Mattell DCU, I have the Superman, Batman, Robin, Azrael, Lex Luthor and Darkseid. I'm trying to find Steel but I'm having a hard time finding him.
And I'm trying to get as many of the JLU figures that I can, but the three packs I find have mainly one of the big 3, which I already have.
I do have the Infinite Cirsis Firestorm, I really like that one. I try to avoid getting one of the big 3 figures unless I really like them, I'm considering getting the new JLA Superman, I think that figures looks good.

I used to collect Warhammer 40,0000 figures. I used to paint them and everything. Sadly, I haven't done so for 15 years. I knew it was a bad sign when I sold all my first-run magic cards to buy an engagement ring.

I collected Eldar. My army was huge. I also had a Kislev army from Warhammer Fantasy, but it was much smaller. They're still in a closet someplace around here.

Oh, cool I like the Eldar look and gameplay. Biel-tan, Ulthwe, Menaan or other?
I'm way too lazy and unskilled to paint 40k figures. I always am impressed by the fantastic job Guard & 'Nid players do on their army. Especially, those Steel Legion players. Damn.

Painting is half the fun. It's pretty relaxing to put on some tunes ans sit and paint away. I made up my own craftworld color scheme. They didn't have the rules that differentiated the different Eldar races in those days. They basically published elementary points and special rules for the Eldar units in "White Dwarf." Then there were the original Harlequin rules from the old "Rouge Trader" rulebook. They've revised the rules half a dozen times since then.
Now they release overpriced boxed sets and rule books. Those Games Workshop assholes really now how to make a geek spend money.

Does anyone else think this is the ugliest statue they've ever seen? I love most of the Black and White line, but this one is terrible.
Really?? I love this one. I think it actually looks the most like the original style.
The Paul Pope one is awesome as well, but you can't really sculpt his weird style as well as the others.
The Ross one is eh for me. It looks pretty standard.
The Miller one doesn't really look that Miller-esque to me.

The thing I really like about the Mignola statue is that it looks just like his art. It took a second for me to realize that what I was looking at was a picture of a three dimensional object which is very cool.

I don't think I've ever seen the "great" batman statue, but the only one I've ever really lusted after was the original Dark Knight Returns statue from long ago. It's quite rare. I can't even find an image of it to post. Same goes for Batman figures. Everytime they release some, me and Conor talk, and say, "is this the one?" and it never is. There's always something about it that isn't right. On the most recent ones, from the Kubert/Morrison Batman run, the Batman is almost perfect, except the cape and cowl are really blue instead of black. So the only batman figure I own is the Dark Knight Returns one from a few years back. I love that one. And I love the Superman as well.

Gordon and I had a conversation about those kinds of statues. They don't work when they use real cloth because the cloth doesn't have the same weight and feel as it would in the right scale. Like when they do miniature work in movies and the water doesn't look right because the droplets are too big.

Right now, most of the stuff I know may be out of production.
There was an initial Kyle Figure from DCD, plus one in the old Total Justice line.
There was a maquette made from the Superman animated series. I recommend that one if you can find it. Also a statue, but I personally didn't like that one.
Then there was figure in his last GL uniform released by DCD that was part of a Justice League line.
I'm hoping an Ion figure gets made soon.
