The covers I liked this week include: Outsiders Five of a Kind Week 4 Metamorpho Aquaman; Spirit #9, Cable Deadpool #44, Birds of Prey #109, and Batman Lobo Deadly Serious #1. None of these blew me away, but I enjoyed something about each one.
What's on your list? What cover art did you enjoy - or not?

I'm going to have to agree with you iSteve. Nothing blew me away either.
The Metamorpho/Aquaman is probably a favorite of mine though.
Astonishing X-Men's cover is pretty good as well.

Yeah, that's right. There's a motherlovin' Raccoon pointing a gun at you. What are you going do with your life NOW?

That's gotta be somewhere between bizarre and just frightening.

That is beautiful man. Thanks for posting it. I love how the Skull symbol is the head of the Phalanx.

You have no idea sir. They're actually putting out an outer space meets Dirty Dozen type comic. Total throw back fun, including the fact that they have to use old school guns because anything to advance will be scannable by their targets. Pick up the first issue, if you don't like it I'll buy you a beer.

I really, really hate this Cable/Deadpool cover. In the past, the Cable/Deadpool covers have been pretty good, summing up the overall theme of the story inside. Also, they were drawn pretty well. These past two submissions are a bit too experimental for my tastes. Call me a snob.

I forgot to mention The Immortal Iron Fist #8. An awesome cover to go with an awesome story.

i think i might be the only still reading Superman, but Walt Simonson is responsible for one butt ugly cover this week.
The interior art worked in terms of the story but this cover would scare me away if i looked at it for any length of time in the store

Nah. I'm reading Superman too. Not only was that cover art horrible, the interiors were a sloppy inconsistent mess. The story was just as awful, by the way. Might be my SBoW if I had to pick. Terrible.

I picked it up beacuse of Simonson. The story was ... well, I didn't understand it. But it sure was a good looking book.

i thought the interior art matched the story, sure it was as sloppy as the cover, but in context of the story i felt it worked. The cover though.... DC does want people to buy superman right? with a cover like that, they are just asking people not to buy it.
I didn't think the story was bad per se. I hated it up until the end, when it all came together. It wasn't great but it wasn't bad either (pretty much falling in with my thoughts on this series as a whole). I just want Busiek to wrap up Camelot Falls.....

The scene where Superman made Jimmy's head burst by whistling was kinda sweet, I suppose.

I still pick it up. Jesus. I think he was trying to make the cover as abstract as the stories. It worked. In fact he managed to be worse.
