Or, at least thats what I think google is trying to tell me after an hour of searching for a real physical class for learning Japanese. If someone could do me a huge favor and find a class in the Phoenix area for me I would be so grateful. I literally looked on google for close to an hour before nearly breaking my keyboard out of frustration. I looked at the local community colleges, and all I found was Beginning Japanese done by the same person who does the Spanish Italian French and well you know every other foreign language. So, unless my community college got a linguistics expert to work pretty much pro bono, I doubt it would be worth a damn.

If I have to take a language later on I'll probably be looking for a Japanese class as well. It seems though that Chinese would be a bit easier to find. ABC did a report on how Chinese classes are popping up all over and how many more people nowadays want to learn it.

I think Im going to get my Bachelors in English with a Minor in Japanese to teach EFL/ESL in Japan. Just thought if I could supplement text book learning with conversational Japanese from a person who was either from there or spent a good amount of time in the country it would help me sound more natural and gain in edge in what I hear is an overcrowded field.

I was doing the chinesepod podcast a while back and it was really great. And then I looked around for a Japanese one and found a few but none where as good as the chinesepod. The chinesepod didnt just focus on grammar or context but both. And, it did a good job of hearing each conversation 3 times then breaking it down. Then hearing it 3 times again after you know what its saying. I picked up on that really quick. Of course, that was 3 months ago and I cant remember any of it now <.<

There are so many languages out there that each area will have classes for the most popular. So there might not be in-person Japanese classes where you are.
