wtf is wrong with you? you are the worst casting agent ever!
just create one thread and call it "Bad Casting Ideas" and you won't need to make all these threads about bad actors playing comic icons they could never pull off.

I'm no racist, but you want to take blonde hair, blue eyed 1940s pre desegregation era created Steve Rogers and cast Wil Smith to play him. Umm yeah.. that's a good idea if you consider nipples on the batsuit good ideas. At least (and I'm not saying it's a good idea) you want to play the race reversal trickery card you get someone more talented then Wil Smith to play him. Try Denzel or something.

To set the record staright I did not make this up he is in the running for the part of Captain America. Someone at the studio put him at the top of the list to play the part. The rock is a close second.

It actually came from an article in empire magazine where they were doing stupid castings, the same article where you got the lindsay lohan as wonder woman shit. These 2 should also be the same topic instead of creating 2 equally worthless topics, also a link to said article would have been nice so that people know what you are talking about.

How about we actually try to make movies that portray the damn books and characters that they are based off!
Captain America is a blond haired, blue eyed, white guy. Therefor the actor to play him in the movie should be....*gasp*...a blond haired, blue eyed, white guy.
Call me racist, call me whatever you want, I don't really give a shit. But Will Smith is no Captain America. Anyone making a movie based off of any comic needs to have enough respect for it to do some justice when handling the casting.

i could see the rock as Isaiah Bradley, but not Cap. i don't think Bradely would be in the movie though.

don't know if i can see him pulling it off acting wise, but paul walker looks like how i imagine cap.

how bout this..cast paul walker as cap, but only have the movie take place during the years he is frozen in ice...maybe u can bring in that creature from ice age to have some sort of comic element.

Will smith would make a kickass green lantern...
Paul walker reminds me of the flash.
Brad Pitt wouldnt be a bad captain america, i know i said it... But there are not many other actors that fit the bill of blond haird blue eyed guys that are ripped as ****.

The only way Will Smith could pull it off story-wise is if they went with the original, ORIGINAL, story: The first person to get the serum was a black man at Tuskegee.

Believe or not, but the only way I heard about that was when I randomly flipped through the channels and land on BET news, where they were doing a piece on that comic. And Thats all I know about it.

WWE's John Cena...Wow, if John Cena got the role of Cap, he would be bringing some SUPER ACTION to comic book movies :D

Will Smith is more Captain Planet (with an attitude) than Captain America.

that's who Isaiah Bradley is, which would more like the Rock, not Smith.

God dammit mad ripper. Not again, hahahaha. NO NO NO AND NO. Abacus where was that link to the article you were talking about? Captain America needs to be blond and white, I'm not racist, but that's the character. Plus, do we really think that around WWII America would've embraced a superhero to represent them that's black? That's just historically inaccurate! This is one character they can't "embezzle" on too, much, cause seriously, stay true to cap in the cap movie. He's earned it, he deserves it, and I love him. I actually am a fan of Will Smith and enjoy him in most things (although he might lose me with the whole I Am Legend thing), but I say let's get someone appropriate in there for cap. No ideas for casting yet, but we'll see. We'll see.

I don't think he could pass for a Captain America, or even Flash or Aquaman for that matter. I don't know what it is, but it just seems like he would be more convincing as a John Stewart or Static Shock type of character.

hahaha!!! Once they REALLY start scraping the bottom of the barrel with revival 80's cartoon/comic/book/fantasy adaptation movies, (probably a little bit after the ****ing Emma Frost movie comes out), THEN and only then is captain planet movie is IMPERATIVE to my existence. Live action of course. haha. oh man.

If graham looked like this all the time, with that adorable little glimmer in his eye, and that all american smile, then i would DEFINETELY vote graham for cap....wait, but what if he read his lines like he did the characters from Wil's novel, though?...*cringe*

Will Smith as green lantern? No. Of course he'd be casted as John Stewart, the black green lantern. While physically I'd say it would be a good match up, Will Smith's acting wouldn't hold up. John Stewart is a serious guy, and Will Smith isn't.
John Cena has the look, but lets be honest, he's no actor. For a true Captain, you're going to need a good actor with a strong build. And he needs to be tall. If you ever look at Captain America, he's not a little guy. I can't think of anyone mainstream would would do the role justice. If they ever do cast it, they should probably scout around for some unknowns.

Dude, did you see Conan O'Brien the other night? That guy was almost as tall as Conan himself. I think your eyes are just fooled into thinking he's small since all of the other wrestlers are so huge and he wears really long shorts that just look like regular shorts.

the answer was obvious 20 years ago. I think now...not so much....Breath deeply. Hold it, hold it... exhale. That sarcasm is some good stuff, eh? Takes a minute to hit ya tho.
The man can't ditch that accent and you think I think he'd make a good Cap? heh. I just like the irony of him (formerly) fitting the bill as described, but still being one of the worst possible choices.
