Hey guys, just wanted to let any NYC folks on the forum know that if you want a Nintendo Wii, the nintendo world store (48th St. btw 5th and 6th Ave) is taking pre-orders. Not only that, but unlike ebgames and gamestop, a pre-order at the nintendo store GARUNTEES a wii on launch day (Nov 19th). Also you can do the standard pre-order for $50 and they'll hold the system for you for 2 weeks, or you can pay for the whole thing up front and they'll hold it for 4 weeks. I just put my pre-order in and I can't wait till the 19th.

I'm going to my EB first thing tomorrow morning and ordering mine. I've never been to Nintendo World. *shame*

I just got back from the EB Games here and they told me it starts tomorrow for them at 10am (or assuming whenever yours opens). I don't like this pre-order, but you may not get one at launch idea. I thought that was the whole idea. On a side note, someone was arguing with me on XBL last night that there won't be online play with the Wii. Anyone hear this? I know it's online to d/l, but I can't believe they would have it do that and not be able to actually play.

I went to my local GameStop a few weeks ago, and they said they wouldn't be pre-ordering Wiis, but if you pre-order a game, they will put you on a list to come into the store early the day of Wii sales... I put some money down on Red Steel... but I think I have been bilked....

I did the same thing, but what they told me (and probably badly regurgitated back to you) was that if you pre-order a game you'd go on the list to be notified when pre-orders were happening. They couldn't start pre-ordering the consoles before now because they didn't have numbers for how many they would be shipped. Now they have that and thus tomorrow being the day. I just got my call courtesy of the Red Steel pre-order even though I heard it first hand earlier today.

Well, I'm not in NYC, but I was first in line today at my EB. I wasn't the first person there though; a guy got there at 6:30 AM, but he fell asleep in his car, and by the time he woke up me and few others had formed a line. So I got a Wii, a wiimote, nunchuck, and classic controller, a mem card, Twilight Princess, and COD3.
