as far as i can tell, no you prolly cant...and my KB just got weird on me...your motherboard probably is NOT Socket 939, but that Processor is...youll most likely have to upgrade your mobo

Download cpu-z (http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-137.zip) and post a screenshot of everything in the "CPU" tab.

Your motherboard is a socket A. So, no you can't upgrade to that processor. The socket A is 2 generations out of date. Even the one you're looking at is the previous generation. You will need a new mobo to upgrade your processor. Depending on what you get you may need other replacement hardware as well.

also, why are you running in 16bit color + 1024x768? Bit strange so im a bit curious..

Is it bad that im using 16bit computer runs smoother when you have it set on a lower color bit.

The improvement you'd see from overclocking that processor is minimal. Looks like you're running DDR3200 though so you could push it up a little without having to worry about the RAM. You're further ahead to start saving up for a new system.
