I believe it's just a bug that they haven't had the time to address yet. I know it's annoying, but just give it time. These forums are still very new... at least logging in is the most of our problems for the most part.

You'd think that for the price you pay for vBulletin they'd be able to fix stupid stuff like this.

I really don't think that it's something that can't be fixed, or something they're ignoring, but rather they have much more important things to worry about with the launch of an entire new website and lineup of shows than to squash every forum bug in the first 2-3 weeks of them being up. Right now is a time for them to gather what work needs done, and they'll start taking care of what they can over time.

Um, I haven't had to log back in on this machine since I first logged in. I think I hit a button that said to keep logged in or something.

Interesting, that's not the case here.
The problem has been noted by myself and was included in the list of stuff in the "I WANT THAT" thread. So, soon...

Thank-you. I might point out that Jay stated that he is aware of this issue and it will be fixed. However, I stand by my point that vBulletin, a piece of software that costs $100+, should be better supported for clients than this. -_-;; That is assuming that it is vBulletin's fault, since I haven't seen any major revisions to the forum software (it's pretty much stock vBulletin with a great skin).

Well, I want it too. So you can bet I'll be riding people to get it done.

I wonder if this is browser specific?
I run Opera 9.02 under WinXP SP2. No problem on my end. Perhaps you need to switch to a better browser

I don't see what running SP2 has to do with anything. I've been using Opera, FF 1.5 and 2.0RC2 and have been getting the problem. Opera FTL:rolleyes:

don't you have auto memory log on for this site turned on?..i just have to push log on but not a problem even though it should just log on all the way.
Yea my password and all that is saved, but you still have to log it. I can't wait till it will let me stay logged in.

Mine works....It keeps me logged in. Hmm?
I guess thats part of the problem, some things work, sometimes, some people, and others not. Just can't wait till everything is cleaned up.

99% of the time this issue is caused by a corrupt cookie.
delete your cookies for the site. Then log back in. You should be fine after that

I tried that at least 3 or 4 times when the boards first came up. Naturally I thought it was something I was doing wrong, so I tried everything I could think of(clearing my cookies, individually deleting the saved passwords for the site, logging out and logging back in)... nothing worked.
The best I get is that when I log in, once I leave the forums, if I come back to them over a short period of time, I'll still be logged in, but at most that only works once. Even if I never close my browser, once I close the window for the forums twice, I am logged out.

While forums dont remember password, Firefox does - so its not to big of an issue for me to type the first letter of my nick, and then hitting tab once :)

IE even has that.
In Opera you type nothing, just hit the little wand button next to refresh and it signs you in.

you try doing it from revision3.com instead of the forums?

Yep. Cleared my passwords/cookies specifically for Rev3, tried signing in from the forums and the main page. Neither solved the issue for me.

Just wondering if this issue may be fixed in the future (I'm just saying future -- forget near) I still cannot stay logged in and it's really starting to annoy me, every time I think of something really good by the time I am logged in again it's gone, just saying...

I've been having the same problem for a couple of days - from my computer at home. At work it's been fine. (Now watch it ask me to sign in at work!)
I stay logged in as long as I don't close the window(IE 7). Upon reopening, I have to log back in.

Yeah I've noticed it's inconsistent with which computer I may be using, but at random times it will eventually keep asking me for the log in on a computer that was saving the info fine.

That's not really the point of the "remember me" box you can tick when logging in it's supposed to keep the cookie and let you continue to be logged in once the browser has been closed and reopened.
yeah that's what I was going for with my comment

I have tested this with {(Mac: Opera, Firefox, Safari)(Windows: Opera, Firefox, IE)(UNIX: Firefox and Opera)} and I do not have any problems with staying logged in. The only time it becomes and issue is if I am idled for an extended period of time. If I am logged in and browse to another domain and return to Revision3, I am stilled logged in unless it is for an extended period of time.

I have the same experience until I close the window. If I close the window, I have to log back in.

"Keep me logged in" means KEEP ME LOGGED IN. :) Sometimes at home, I can reply to one comment and have to sign in to reply to the next a few minutes later. 'Splain.

This is weird as hell. If you use the log in at the top of the Forums (http://www.revision3.com/forum/) page you will stay logged in. If you forget to see if you signed in and you have to log in to post it will not keep your details. Lets not even talk about the Rev3 page that suckers never worked when I've switched from one show and back to another sometimes...
EDIT: Unless you happen to be logged in on the forums and then you go to the Rev3 page it's all over again...WTH

Firefox 2.0.0.4 for OS X.
Usually log in at the forum index when I need to, and check the box of course.
