I saw a commercial for this game last night. I hadn't ever heard of it before, but looking at the videos it looks like a huge RPG. The graphics look a little uninspired, but it has online multi player and it claims a great story. The reviews are mixed on all the sites i've seen. i was wondering if anyone has played it and could offer me some insight. If this is worth picking up or if i should wait for Blue dragon?

I haven't gotten a chance to play it yet, but its been out for a few months across the pond. I have a friend in Austria whos had it for awhile and he says that the in game graphics are good, but the cutscenes are totally botched for some reason. The game also auto targets for you when attacking (don't know if you can turn it off.) and he said it doesn't seem like anything knew and amazing.

I'm going to at least rent it. I loved the idea of a 6 player spell and sword adventure game.

Yep!, I bought it for my 360 - I haven't played much as yet, as I have been working my way through Bioshock, but what I have played I have liked so far.

The cut-scene graphics are terrible, but once you get in-game it's pretty good. I have heard it takes a while to get into, and from my first game it's more complex than the average RPG, it has the usual armor/weapon upgrading, but then you have other skills, like stealth etc you can use. An then there is the potion mixing.

It's kind of like Oblivion/Fable/Guild Wars/Diablo...

So far I have enjoyed it, but I'm not that deep in, and I am looking forward to playing it some more. By no means its not going to blow yours socks off with it's first impression, but with a deep story and a huge landscape it sure intrigues me.

I've been watching this game closely since I heard about and was hopeful for it haven't seen any reviews yet either. I really hope it does deliver though cos I consider Oblivion one of the best games I've played.

alrighty excellent. i think i may hedge my bets and try a rental first. with everything thats coming out in the next 3 months its going to be an expensive season, i dont want to spend money on something that isnt AAA.

3 people at work here bought it when it was released a week or so ago.

THEY HATE IT

They said that the MP aspect is completely broken, the graphics are really sub-par.... Its basically going to stay out of their 360's until (hopefully) the game is patched.

I saw a trailer where you got a preview of the story, and it sound TERRIBLE. I was rolling my eyes every second, the story, which to me is extremely important in an RPG (and any game for that matter) was so full of cliches it wasn't even funny.

I've been reading terrible, terrible reviews by users out there on many forums. I'd definitely say give this one a rental first before buying.

I was very excited for it, then I keep hearing horrible things about it.

Yeh, I read all those things too before I bought it, I was keeping an eye on the 360 forums as it was delayed in Canada, but it was surprising the amount of people after saying it sucked but continuing to play said how addictive and enjoyable it became after a while. It seems it takes 3-4 hours to get over that hump.

The single player really doesn't look that bad, and the framerate problems and hitching is pretty none existent. I haven't tried the MP yet but I have heard that's the part that needs patching. I may try it out tonight to see how bad the online is for myself.

So _thats_ how long it takes to scramble someone's brain into thinking their $40 purchase was worth it.

I didn't like it at all. Bad UI from what I saw, and the gameplay felt STIFFFFF. Just overall, too much I disliked about it, and I was super pumped for this title.

Very disappointed.

I'll still try it out, but now it is not something I need right now like I thought it would be.
